They will probably deduct from whatever the settlement is.

Dude sorry to hear about your loss.... AND glad to hear about the new possible addition to the family!!

I had a guy do the whole u-turn thing on me and did almost $15k damage to my old truck. They replaced the frame, whole dog house, bedside, door..... Well you see what I am talking about.

I never liked that truck after that....

I traded it in on my SS/SC!!!

Thanks man, I'm not getting both, either the SS or the GTO, SS is cheaper, and I believe has a lot of potential, if I can get G85 I am sticking w/ the Cobalt. If I can't, here I come LS2!

I have pics of the interior, but not from inside the car. I can tell you that the firewall was not damaged, everything on the inside is fine, except the airbags are deployed.

Won't be buying it back, insurance company is offering to pay off my aftermarket stuff, because if they didn't I would've took the exhaust off.

little update, I just bought a 06 GTO. Sorry to jump on the bandwagon, but this thing is wicked! Well, I loved my cobalt while I had it, but I guess it's time for bigger and better things.

Good luck with it, looks like from here that the only thing you needed on the SS was a new front end and new blower. Everything else looks ok? Did they find the frame was bent?

^^^Did you see the engine bay!! The whole left side is missing! and yes, the frame is bent, just look at the radiator support!

Another Coblat SS owner switched to GTO owner...but hey, just think of the Cobalt as a warm up for that 400 HP BEAST!!!!

Sorry, :/ it's hard telling with some of these pictures. I've seen worse wrecks they were able to fix it and the car lived a happy long life but no car is right after it's been into an accident...

Yeah, trust me, there was no saving that car, and that is not to say it couldn't be done, but the cost of making like it was before would be a lot more than the cars value. This is the way insurance companies look at things. I figured, I got to drive the SS/SC for almost a year, I might as well try something different. Cobalt was an awesome car though!

The wheels still look good, you could always sell them. GM wants $600 per wheel.

I dont have any experience with total loss but I totally feel you pain. I factory order mine waited 6 months for it had exactly 3 days almost to the minute when a 1 ton ford decided to run into the back of me. they had it in the body shop for 3 1/2 weeks I got it back just in time to make my first payment.

Congrats on the GTO man!

its sucks you had to come to it on such bad terms.

Glad your okay! Our cars seem to watch out for the people in them. I have seen some badly wrecked Cobalts, but nearly everyone gets to walk out of them!

Congrats again on the GTO and 400 HP!
