cobalt sprt and cobalt ss.

cobalt ss='05-'07 2.4L engine. it was bagded an ss becaus it was the largest engine of the cobalt fleet. and was the next model down from the ss supercharged.

the cobalt sport. is in actuality, the same as the '05-'07 2.4L ss. b ut, however, it is not an ss. because from '05-07 there were two ss models, the 20.L ss supercharged, and the 2.4L ssn/a. but in 2008, the ss supcercharged was canceled for the 2.0L ss turbocharged, and the 2.4L ss was renamed the cobalt sport. same 2.4L engine, just a different name

so, in other words, do not put SS badged on your 08+ 2.4L sport.

so even though you have the same engine, same wheels, same steering wheel(as the 07+'s) same suspension, blah blah blah. as the '05-'07 ssn/a's. your car is NOT the same as them.

so is that just because some NUBS at GM decided to change it to sport from ss even though its just the same thing as the 06 & 07 my self i don't care if my 08 says sport instead of ss but if someone was to re badgs a sport to ss no one but that person would know

Gm changed it to sport because it was confusing as hell to people who aren't enthusiast's .

No, they renamed it the sport because they wanted to bring back what the SS name used to mean. High performance, not an appearance package. That's why they had an Equinox Sport not an Equinox SS. Look it up.

yes i was aware as to why they changed it to sport. I was just making a point as to what difference it would of made if some one re badged a 08 Sport to SS as its excatly the same as a 06 & 07 SS/NA 2.4L. that trim should of never been badged a SS but rather badged just Sport or RS so as not to confuse the not knowing. that is also why in 08 they dropped the super charger and turboed the SS to boost the HP and make it a true SS contender
