Cobalts losing Value??????

I was just wonderign why so many cobalts are going for so cheap!!!

People are talkign about ss/sc's with 25K miles selling for $14,000??

I remember just back in April you couldnt touch a used cobalt with 25K miles for under 17,000....

Is it because its winter and nobody wants them now? Just seems like they are depreciating a little more than expected.

Its because people are starting to trade them in now so there not so much in demand.

Cobalts in general have bad resale values. They are just cheep cars, no way around it.

majority of people (not on this site) that don't own a cobalt think it's a piece of **** cavalier, and don't want to spend the money on one. they have a HORRIBLE resale value.

Keep saying that, but let's see where Chrysler LLC is in a few years.

i think part of it is the start of a new year, theres a certain amount of depreciation and i believe that once you hit the new year they take in account another year of use. But yeah, i hear a lot of people talk about my car like its a prettied up cavalier.

That's why my cobalt is a keeper car. Bought it new, and I promise you I will bury it.

options packages don't generally help car value.

in other words, a 25k new SS SC is only gonna be worth a small amount more than a 15k ls once you get to trade time

it will be longer than a few years before the value comes back up. The sc being only 3 years before its last legs was long enough for lots of people to buy it up so it will take some time.

doubt it. guaranteed anyone that keeps the car for a few years gets less than 10k for it.

Well look at where GM is going.. right down the toilet. U think a car made by GM is going to have much value after GM lost... 38 billion dollars last year?

Honestly... since the new turbo was rumored... resale value has tanked hard. I don't know why... the SS/SC isn't a bad or cheap car. Obviously turbo > anything.

If you look at used dealerships or elsewhere online you'll see the SC is doing ok. The prices on this particular site are super low b/c there's like 20 of them for sale.

x2..besides mine was in a 12,000$ accident that wasn't my fault so its worth prob like 10,000 now or something so not even worth selling it..hence why i just wanna get it to like 300-350 hp over the years and leave it at that and then just buy a bike

GM is in much better shape than it was a few years ago. You don't hear anymore talk about bankruptcy do you? The loss was one that was necessary for the turn around. GM is shedding alot of the excess in order to turn profit later. The news link doesn't tell the entire story.

I got my 2007 for 17k from a dealer with 7k miles on it with the plastic from the original dealer still at the bottom, I would say they lost quite a bit of value the first year. Hopefully they lost enough to slow the plummet over the next few years though.
