Crashed the cobalt :( 56k warning

I was driving home today from my friends around 6am. I just woke up from a nap so i was still sleepy. Long story short I dozed off for a second. Then when I realized it I had to slam on the brakes on at the end of an off ramp where I was going. Of course I was half a mile away from home when it happend. I went over a curb and into a incline that was steep that I kinda just stuck into the side of it.

So now my car is fucked up. Heres a pic .. Look at the front left wheel. PS happy thanksgiving to all of you who are out there

 You should not operate a car if your tired. When will people learn. Clearly not soon enough.

I dont think so. But i could be wrong. The whole front is messed up as you see. and the front axle is busted. Pretty much my whole front left wheel and CV joint and all that is snapped.

Guess not. Granted I always drive with the windows down & sunroof back, unless it's raining. I always have my stock Pioneer system booming to make sure I am ALWAYS awake... This is a tragedy, but I don't see it getting any better anytime soon...

oh ya. also the tow truck driver snapped something off as well when pulling my car off the curb. Looked like a big rubber hose of some sort that I thought at first was my gas line but I didnt smell any gas.

and my car was also keyed 2 nights ago as well. atleast i didnt claim that yet

If you look in the foggy back ground you can see the off ramp which i was coming off of.

I don't drive when I'm tired. Whats the point? Risking one of your only high valued items for no real reason.

I'm sure you have driven your car at some point in a way that put yourself and the vehicle at risk!

Just driving your car out of your driveway puts it at risk........

that sucks big sweaty wrestler *****. its ok tho i did something pretty similar few weeks ago. i was driving in the parking lot and i was doing a pretty decent amount of speed(not sure how fast, still stupid tho) i shifted and something didnt feel right so i looked down at the shifter. i looked up just as quick as i looked down and there was the curb. went over the curb and took a sharp left to avoid a power pole and smashed into a dumpster pretty good. it was dark and foggy and in the barracks parking lot. 10400 in damage. i miss her so much. shes supposed to be down for over a month. i got her a coming home gift tho. GM STAGE 2!!!! my car looked way worse than yours you should be ok. just get ready for alot of down time, im not mad tho. im still walking...

Its also easier to look back on situations and say "i shouldnt of done this. or i shoudnt of done that"

When I left I didnt think I was putting myself in danger nor my car. Thats why i left. And hell thats why i took the nap in the first place.

Im just happy it was so late/early out that nobody was driving on that street where I slide across. you have no idea how thankful I am about that.

But yes, I made a mistake. **** happens.

Edit: downtime :sigh: . This is going to suck especialy since I have few more weeks of classes till next semester. I wish i was in the dorms now.

Also being laid off last week doesnt help the situation at all either.

You were lucky that no one else was driving down that street. I think it looks fixable from the picture... hopefully no frame damage!!!
