Crashed The SS!!!

Well.. First of all let me just tell you that. I AM F**KING PISSED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok.. So a long day of work (driving a transport).. I get back to out yard and finish up.. So it's been snowing all day and the snow and ice is adding up.. So I am driving down this road I take to and from work, which was snow covered.. Ok fine.. I have been down it many times like this.. Usally I am ripping it still doing 80KM/H.. But tonight was different.. I was doing about 50-60km/p minding my own business.. When all of a sudden the car takes off in the other direction.. No warning no nothing.. Just boom.. So I am in the oncoming traffic and see a car no more then 50feet away.. So I serve (maybe he was closer) so the other side to avoid a head-on collision.. Well I must have over steered it back and then the back end came out on me.. So by this time I am like.. I am f**ked.. So I pull the e-brake to avoid going into a ditch and causing some real damage.. So when I pulled the ebrake.. The car spun around and smacked into come wooden guard rails (with steel cables) and there I sat... I would have acutally felt better if that happened if I was being an idiot on the road or speeding or something. But I wasn't doing any of the above.. Which makes me alot more pissed..

The funny thing is.. Why does it always happen when you get a new car.. I have been driving older cars (90,89 and 96) and not one accident in my years of driving.. But as soon as I get a new car.. Boom it happens.. Man am I not happy.. Now my insurance will be going up and I am still pissed lol..

There is a couple thousands worth of damage.. I know for sure cause this crap aint cheap (my buddy's spoiler got ripped off and a little small dent in his rear quater panel.. Cost $1800cdn)... I don't know what happened to my steering. But all I know is it's out of whack now and making some strange noises.. Probably broke something.. But I could still drive it.. I tell ya the dealership messed something up when putting on my new boot kit the other day. Cause of no where this just happens..

I will get some better pictures in the daylight tomorrow.. So these ones will have to do..

Thre is more damage in the rear.. It's too dark out to tell how much more damage there is.. The hood and fender is the only thing with that amount of body damage as far as I can tell...

That is terrible. It seems as if only yellow cobalts are getting into accidents...(curse?) Do you have the stock Pirelli tires? Or do you have snowtires?

Looks like he has snow tires, was there a drift in the road or a patch of ice or something? That sucks hope everything works out.

Yea.. I have winter tires on there.. One of the best tires I thought... Dunlop M3's.. They seems pretty good.. But who knows there could have been a patch of black ice or ice under the snow.. But it's weird.. It just took off without any warning of lossing traction...

Dude, it sucks more than anything right now but here's the positives:

- you're ok
- you didn't involve anyone else
- the damage doesn't look that bad, new fender, hood obviously...that's what insurance is for

everything will be ok man, thank god you're ok

I think someone previously wrecked their cobalt right after the dealer replaced a boot. Could be the dealers fault...

No what I meant about that. Is.. I would feel better about having damage to my car becuase I was being an idiot and deserved it (or had it coming to me).. When it happens and I didn't deserve it or whatever is what sucks.. I didn't mean I wanna act like and idiot and crash.. I am just talking about I would feel better knowing I deserved it then not..

Thanks for all the nice comments

Damn that sucks. What is it with Bolt's costing an arm and a leg for a little bit of repair??
There is a guy at my work that has an orange LS Bolt 5 spd and has a slight dent in the front drivers fender... (also brand new car) he was told that it would cost him about 2000$ to get it repaired cause they had to replace the whole panel and not only that they would have to take paint scrapings from the DOOR to match the paint on the fender... Hello! you have a whole gawd damned fender to take paint from! and not only that... but he closed his door after the "accident" and the side view mirror popped out of the casing and cracked! How wacked is that?!

Well the cars are brandy new so parts are expensive. The weird part is, if you check my thread about my cobalt getting macked, the damage is pretty nasty, but they only gave me an estimate of around $5,000 USD! Weird...

Anyway, I feel your pain as my yellow cobalt is sitting in the shop getting ripped apart and straightened out. Good luck

Sorry to hear that man. The most important thing is that your okay though. The car can easily be repaired. Cost a few dollars, but insurance will spot ya.
