Don't know how long it's been disabled, but I'll probably still drive with my foot resting on the pedal cause I never know when I have to shift lol.
i used to rest my foot on the clutch every now and then til i had that problem with the cruise control, now i try my hardest not to but sometimes i dont realize that im doing it.

This same thing has happened to me twice: when I first got the car (dealer fixed it for free), and about the time this thread was posted. I still haven't gotten it fixed, but the first time they replaced the position sensor switch. I don't rest my foot on the clutch pedal, but this time I think I'm going to try disconnecting the battery for a while, distance between college and home is about 440 miles and it's hell without cruise. I'll update if it worked or not.

UPDATE: It worked, I got sidetracked and let it sit unhooked for about an hour at least last night, and it worked today. Car must not have liked that though, came out this morning to a flat tire. Just can't win...

Worked for me too. Took about 20 minutes unhooked. Thanks for the info. Last time it happened, I went 6 months without cruise, until I unhooked the battery while doing a stereo upgrade. More by accident, it fixed it then also. I always wondered whjy it started working again.
