Cruise Control Probs.

I have had my car in 5 times for them to adjust or fix my cruise control. It seemed that evertime I would engage it then hit a bump it would disengage itself. So after the 5th time in I started asking about the lemon law.....the dealer then called me a day later and said it was fixed. Now if you have a manual you know that all you have to do is tap the clutch pedal to disengage the cruise....should I take the cobalt back in since I have to press the clutch in all the way to disengage the cruise....

thoughts please.

Why not just hit the button on the steering wheel to disengage it? That's what I do.

then you can't hit the reset cruise button on the wheel you have to set it again.....but you are right I could do that......its the fact of the matter that it has been in 5 times and no resolve

I would think the upper clutch switch* is bad......pita to get to from what I read. If the dealer already replaced it, may be a wiring issue.

* There are 2, the lower one is the starter interlock, won't let the car turn over unless the clutch is all the way in (may act as a backup to disengage the cruise as well), upper one lets the ecu know when you are starting a clutch application, disengages cruise and likely tweaks the throttle response for shifting - just a guess on that though

Sounds very plausible to me.

i know I can use the brake is disengage it but I now have to fully press the clutch in in order to shift (until i can;t press it any more.)
