Curb Rash Under tire and wheel warranty or suggestions to fix?

Well i made the mistake of taking my SS s/c on a road trip from San Marcos to Dallas, Tx over the weekend and came back with scrapes on the lips of 2 wheels where the rim meets the tire.

1. It doesnt appear to be terribly deep on either rim, but I would have no way of knowing how to classify a mild scratch vs. an unfixable scratch.

2. I purchased the wheel and tire road hazard protection package when I bought the car from the Chevy dealer. I believe I got these scrapes as a result of hitting large potholes in inner city Dallas while we were site-seeing. There was no structural damage to either wheel or tire, only the scrapes along the edge of the rim. I have not checked any curbs since I bought the car so this could not be the cause of the damage. Is there a chance it will be covered.... and if not

3. Can scrapes and imperfections be buffed out of the wheels or otherwise fixed? I would like to avoid buying two new wheels...

I couldn't be more pissed at myself for not taking my G/F's Sentra like we had originally planned but I HAD to show my car off to the friends we were visiting. *******

Anyone have any ideas for me?

you can always call up the city of dallas and tell them your rims are damaged due to potholes.

If you remember exactly where they were. and provide pictures of the damage etc....sometimes you can get that kind of thing payed for.

I know up here theres a hotline to the city just for road damage claims.

they should be covered under warranty, the wheel and tire road hazzard package is there to protect you from pot holes or anything in the road that might damage your wheels or give you a flat tire. just call up the dealer and explain what happened and that you have the wheel and tire warranty. They will be happy to have them fixed for you

I dont think they will be fixed under warranty.Your car is still drivable,so they wont do anything. That insurance is for when you hit a pothole or whatever and you crack your rim or something and it makes your car undrivable.Do you know how much money they would lose if they had to replace rims beacause of a scratch? Its worth a shot, but i dont see it happening.Where i live they have these mobile rim repair trucks. They charge like $75 to repair wheels.Thats probably your best bet.

thanks for the suggestions. I'll try to get a picture of each wheel to get an opinion on whether or not they can be fixed. I didnt have much luck finding the stock ss wheels on ebay, at least for sale individually as I would not want to purchase 4 new wheels.
