Has anyone noticed that on the SC/SS that the curb weight on the door say like 3869!? What up with this?

 

i think your reading the wrong part of the sticker... curb weight is 26 hundred and something..your looking for GVWR (gross vehicle weight rating)

 

Curb is 29XX.

Gotboost that is GVWR as kissmySS said, meaning that is the total weight that the car can hold for federal safety reasons.

 

Yeah i saw that too, but 2600 sounded to light?

 

oh ok, so is there anywhere on the car that shows how much it weighs with just the car?

 

um to the best of my knowledge from what i can remember from doing emissons testing and looking at those 30 times a day for a year..its on the first line i believe at the end, all other numbers are weight/towing ratings...I think....if i had a cam id take a pic for ya...but no cam srry...


EDIT** 2980 Is the actual Weight...

 

My car weighed w/ me in it on an "empty" tank at Houston Raceway Park 3010lbs. I weigh 240-245lbs so that would equate to approximately 2770lbs.

Edit: Also..the only "weight reduction" was removing the four floor mats, I still had the spare and jack.
