There's this guy with an 01 Grand Prix GTP who is talking a ton of smack on my car.

2.4L SS with GMPP Intake and exhaust and a short throw.

He is stock.

Who will win? And if its him what can I do to win?(minus damn ridiculous turbo/go buy an SS/SC/nitrous)

I personally do not care if his car is faster, he is just one of those douchebags who thinks his **** is teh uber bestest...and it would be nice to put him in his place.

well i dont like when people talk **** about their cars when they are stock, they have done zzero work to them. so they are taking credit for car companies designs????? wtf? just punch him in the face, lol, jk. whats the 2.4 rated at like 175 right? so with mods like 210 or something??? please correct me if i am wrong, i dont know what your car throws down, hes got a supercharged 6 cyl. that puts down close to 260. hes also got the auto factor working for him its easy off the line to smash the gas in an auto then to launch with a stick. this is what i would do, run him , tell him to shut his mouth and get in his car. if he backs out then he cant keep talking smack. if you lose big deal, you had less power and and you can say wow must have been tough beating a car with less power moron. if you win, well you could figure that part out. as far as what can you do to beat him, mods man, lol, thats all there is to it really

with his mods he wont be more than 190hp.
A GMPP intake and exhaust will not give him 30+ hp.

The 2.4l has been rerated by GM at 173 HP for 2007. But the GMPP Short ram intake isn't as good as a CAI for boosting numbers.

But yeah, if you've got stick and he's auto, I'd say line up with him from a 30mph roll and go to town. his car outclasses yours so you're better off taking every advantage you can get. But yeah, just like the last guy said. Tell him to put up or shut up, and bring a friend with a camera along. that should stop the bitchin.

ps. better yet, just borrow someonesSS/SC in the same color and don't tell him you swapped.

i will guess that you will lose by 1 or 2 cars.........my bro drives a stock 01 gtp and he always gets me off the line with auto and me not being a great driver. but i catch and pass him by 50 ending with a 2 plus car win. o yeah and i have an ss/sc. in short the cars arent that fast.........i think 15 even in the quarter maybe less im not really sure.

ah the battle of the 15 second cars... The GTP has one thing over you, TORQUE off the line. This is what you do, pratice your launches and your quick gear shifting, believe it or not a SS/NA is just as quick for about 2 seconds as a SS/SC until they reach real high in the RPM band then the SS has already bested your horsepower. This is stock for stock. I had one place a good run against me when I was stock and still getting adjusted to being patient on shifting at about 6500.

The M90 eaton loses efficentcy at about 5k RPM. It just falls flat on it's face. Not sure why but I've never seen one go higher in the RPM and make good useable power.

 

If the GTP is stock then I think he will probably get you by about a car or so... if he can't drive you may even be able to take him. Guess you won't really know till you run him. I raced a stock GTP with my SS/SC when it was stock and had him by about 2 or 3 cars.
