Custom Retrofits or Catback?
Debating on my next major purchase for the Beast and can't decide, for around the same price, whether to get a set of custom-made retro headlights or go with a NEW Hahn 3" catback.
Keep in mind that the new exhaust would more than likely call for a new dp as I currently have the Vibrant header/dp combo and from what I hear it's better to go straight 3" than 2.5" flanged up to 3".

full exhaust. always put performance before aesthetics. ive got custom 3" catless dp, hahn catback with muffler delete. so basically all i have hahn is a resonator haha but yeah go exhaust setup
I'm wondering what kind of dp I should use since the one I have is only 2.5" and I'll need a 3" for the preferred setup.

In this case I would go with the Retrofits. I'm keeping the stock cat back on mine (the muffler at least), even after I go supercharged. The only noise I want on this car is supercharger whine.
I thought this too, for the longest time. Wasn't gonna worry about the exhaust at all but I've recently just fallen in love with the way a straight 3" Hahn catback sounds. Noticed it's priced on ZZP for around the same exact price (before shipping) as the retrofit deal I've been offered.
not sure what type of motor you have and what your goals on a "build" are but regardless, I'd do retrofits. Better exterior appearance and better lighting performance all in one vs. just upgrading from a 2.5" --> 3" system where gains are going to be minimal at best
You're totally right. Really regardless of my build, you're right. I have a 2.4 N/A soon to be S/C and honestly, as I might've said previously, the exhaust upgrade is really more about the sound than anything.
Also something I considered at one point. But I just have to say that the only real reason I revisited the idea of upgrading the exhaust is because I "fell in love" with the sound of the 3" Hahn on an LSJ. If there was something at the 2.5" size that sounded almost spot on, I'd consider that moreso as I've already been told staying stock size would be better for my 2.4 S/C
next time i see you let's compare your light output to my retro's, also i only have $205 into my retro's since i built them myself and bought the parts on a black friday sale. sorry toby
if it's that killer of a deal definitely go retro's, you can get the exhaust at any time

I do admit Gen 4s are the next best option, I had a set. But, the lighting and looks of them still can't compare to retros
A basic set of retros can be made fairly cheap too, especially if you aren't paying anybody labor.

i have probably 8-10 hours or so in mine and that's not even getting all that fancy

Exactly why people want $100-$200 to make them, I don't blame them. Time is money and that's why retros get expensive.
Building a set yourself or buying used is the way to go when looking for cheap retros.

Exhaust is just something for sound that I'll eventually want regardless, I guess I just have a hard time deciding what comes next on my seemingly endless list, lol.
