It depends how basic they are. What projectors and shrouds are being used. How much painting is being done. Halos or demon eyes. Also if they are making them out of a brand new set on headlights you have to factor in that cost.
pretty much what brad just said, all depends on what you want and the builder's quality. mine are fairly simple and probably cost me around $325 with the parts and time i had involved, and that was with re-using my stock lights and buying parts on sale. obviously with a new set of housings the cost will be much more, now i don't want to say an exact price because everyone is different but you should be able to judge if you're getting a good deal based on that for a brand new set of custom retro's
Well I'm asking bmartz questions now and awaiting a response because I don't know if he even specified whether I should send my stockers or if he planned on ordering new ones. My stockers are just fine so hopefully that will effect the price a wee bit.
$525 for new lights + all black w/ pink halos. Good deal or?
My buddy is selling a set for 200 plus shipping. He built another set that's color matched so he's selling this barely used basically net set. No halo or demon eyes but are still spectacular retros with Gatling gun shrouds and I believe morimoto h1 projectors.

Agreed, that's about the going rate. Just make sure the builder knows what they are doing, can't stress that enough. Everybody on Facebook thinks they are a pro retro builder.
I am only in the market for custom retros for the fact that I'm set on having them black/pink themed. Definitely a reputable builder for sure. Just wondering if it's something I should hop on right away or wouldn't be an issue to wait a little bit.

It's not a killer deal by any means, you could wait.
at this point hearing that price it doesn't strike me that you need to jump on the deal right away
Thanks everyone for the input! Much appreciated since I'm a horrible "big" decision maker and I always like to get the biggest BANG! for my buck. I'll update when the deed is done, regardless :-)
not a bad price for new everything as long as he is using OEM lights to start with and a quality HID kit. if the pink is something you really want then paying the extra for a new set woud be worth it imo
just to put in perspective I sold my 3" lens FXR retrofits with 50w ballasts & bulbs, halos, and premium shrouds shown in my sig for $500 used for less than a year after I built them. They were like brand new when sold and parts alone cost $320 with a 25% off black friday sale. add in the fact that I used OEM SS lens headlights and prices add up super fast when building new sets (which i have done about 8 now using various combinations of parts). I can honestly say I'd only recommend using OEM lights with a full TRS retrofit kit. If you can find a set you like that is used then you can save a decent deal of money by doing so, but make sure you arent buying someone elses "mistakes". I've seen a lot of sub-par quality sets running around that I hope people arent paying a lot for

yup, not sure if you saw my post in the PA thread but i offered to build a simple set for any local guys who want them. only thing is they need to buy the parts up front, that way i'm not sitting on parts i had to pay for and they only have to pay me for labor
