Dead battery in my 4-months old SS/SC?

Sorry, title should say SS/TC.
So I'm installing my new sound system and was playing it yesterday, drained the battery to where the car wouldn't start. Put a charger on it and now the charger says "replace or service battery". After charging it for a few hours the ignition is completely dead when yesterday it was at least still "clicking" when I turned the key. Time for a new (beefier) battery, or is there something else going on here? My Cobalt is from February; seems a bit quick for the battery to die?

You could have left the lights on one night and didnt know it. Or the interior light.

Btw, your thread should say ss/tc, shouldnt it?

Yes, should say SS/TC.
Last night the battery was in bad shape but not completely empty. I figured running a 600Watt RMS amp for a few hours was the cause. But it was parked in the garage all night, no lights or interior lights on, and this AM it was completely dead (truck wouldn't even open). And then that message on the charger?

The cobalt has a neat little feature that shuts off power to the headlights or interior stuff like the head unit or interior lights after 15 minutes. However if he didn't run the remote wire for the amp as was mentioned above the amp will always be on and drawing power from the battery.

I did run the remote wire to the amp, that wasn't it. The battery did recover; I disconnected the charger and then hooked it back up and that time it charged properly all the way. Has worked flawlessly since. Thanks for the suggestions though guys!

The stock batteries are crap!!! I had the batteries die in BOTH my new Cobalts within a few months. Particularly when it got cold outside, they wouldn't start below 20F. No dealership I tried would warranty them, because they passed their test. My 06' and 09' both needed new batteries within the first 6 months. All of my strange power problems were solved with new batteries. I don't have a system or anything extra drawing from the battery..

um if the battery was close to dead and u played the sytem for hours then left the car overnight. then u destroyed that battery. its not meant to be drained that far down ever. get a deep cycle battery if you plan on doing that often

i've seen vehicles need to be boosted to get off the transport truck and then charged fully. and my car has started flawlessly in well below 20F and still going strong.
