dealership made my car slow, and its making me angry
ok, well i just hit 35k, and when i got my oil changed a couple of weeks ago they told me i am due for the 30k mile service. so, i didnt have money at the time, and came back today to get it done. i told them not to replace the air filter(gm intake so they couldnt), change the oil(just had it done), or rotate tires. so from 360 dollars to 133, good deal. i get it back, and i take it easy, just to be safe. well later i'm going , second gear, at about 4k rpms, i decide to punch it. 4k btw is like my best spot...4k-4.5. so i punch it, and WOW. it is so slow.
what the hell could they have done??? no CELs or anything. they did a transmission flush, coolant flush, checked brakes, and injector flush or w/e.
and for further proof:
it makes me look real bad when we went to the track and the results were:
07 cobalt ls(cousin) with custom 2.25 catback with flowmaster muffler, all base level, 15' steelies, continentals. he ran 10.27 or something to that effect.
06 cobalt ls(me) with custom 2.5 catback with magnaflow muffler, gmpp intake, pacesetter header.(very slight leak from the header, not even enough to really hear it) 17' wheels. ran a lowest of 10.55. all of my 60's where above 2.55. no matter what i freaking launched at, there was not enough power to even really spin out and so i was slow off the line. even popping the clutch at 3k.
back in the day when i still had a bad exhaust leak, i was running 10.3s.
what am i supposed to do?

my guess is it has something to do with the fuel injector cleaner or whatever you said they did to the car. does your car make any smoke at all when you get on it? or does it bog at all?
Sometimes you get cleaner stuck somewhere in the motor and it needs a good few romps on the highway to blow it out. keep working on it.

Um, there are some problems with your post. First of all, there is no way you got an oil change, trans flush, coolant flush, and injector cleaning for $133.
Second, Why in the hell would get a trans flush, coolant flush, or injector cleaning at 35K miles? Your trans is literally "service free". You NEVER have to replace your fluid. There is a recommendation that if you drive under hard conditions that you can replace it at 50k. The coolant system is at 150K. And you only clean your injectors on condition. And at 35K, you aren't there yet.

no the only thing you should be doing is making sure your fluids are all full. no need for a flush and fill yet.

Okay, here is what happened to you. Wherever you took the car to, that specific shop has a 30K mile service "package" that they alone offer. It has nothing to do with your Cobalt or its required maintenance whatsoever. You my friend, got taken. Your car wasn't due for any of those things. In fact, some of them don't even apply. The tech doing to job saw "coolant flush" on the work order and didn't do a damn thing because he knows there is nothing wrong with it. He just checked to make sure it had fluid in it, and then moved on. You just paid $130 bucks for nothing.
As far as why your car is slower, I doubt it has anything to do with the work they did.

I took my 05' LS in at 30,000 miles for an oil change too. The dealer tried to sell me the "recomended" 30,000 service package also. I declined, told them maybe next time I'm in. I have no plans on having it done either.

This is why I do all the work and maintainence on my cars myself no matter what. If anybody ever told me they had to "flush my power steering fluid" on my Cobalt, I would never f'n go there again. I can't believe that, and "transmission service" at 30k? No way. That sucks dude.

Well, they wouldn't have messed with anything that has to do with the exhause. Only thing I can say is look at the intake really good, make sure everything is hooked up and MAF is plugged in all the way. Do you have a check engine light?

no CEL. maybe its the injectors or something? my focus injectors fucked up once except it would act like i hit a rev limiter at like 4k, and had big power loss.. no CEL on that either.

I'm no mechanic, in fact I rarely even open the hood on my Cobalt, but my guess would be something to do with the intake or injecters. Could be a loose sensor, or vaccuum line or something like that.

i will probably end up ordering a new gmpp filter, unless its cost is up my ass. cuz i know the cleaning didnt help it much. the service manager said they couldnt find anything wrong with it, but the only thing he can think of that would do it is when they cleaned the injectors maybe some fuel got into the cat or something and clogged it or whatever. i have the SS downpipe sitting in my room and the SS manifold coming in the mail by next thursday. so maybe we will see.

the injector cleaner might worry me but it should pass through in no time, what id be concerned about is the tranny service and the road test. I dont like anyone to test out my car after work has been done. Hows your clutch holding up?

If you can take a look at the thermostat, might be a good place to look. Also, what coolant did they use? I tent to prefer dexicool, epically if you run you car hard (which, you race, ergo, you do.)
