Delema
Delema
The Delema Is.....
I seem to keep breaking things on my cobalt Clutchs, axels, ect....
i ordered some drag radials and upgradeing my axels.... my racing clutch didnt hold any long than a stock one for some reason
i heard with hpt you can dump the boost in first to lower your power for some reason s not breaking things lower torque so you cn hook up ect... but iff im getting radials should i lower boost in first also?? or will the radials take care of the traction problem and make more strain on the drivetrain???
any opinions apprectiated...EXCEPT....this one "Dont Race you wont break your car" i have heard that to much

Lowering your boost in first would still help reduce the stress on your drivetrain, but you got the axles now and thats what most seem to worry about breaking. You could still lower it a little but I would check your new times with the slicks first so if you do get it dropped down a little you know how you did in the first place.

what rmp would you recomend??? this preticular time i had a stage 3 exedy clutch ..(not much room to slip or ease on the gas) .. and i launched about 2k rpms. however the track was prepare quite well no screech or anything just a leap forward a pop and that was all she wrote...when i got out to help push the car off the track, the track was so tacky it damn near pulled my shoe off.

Just for the record, an aftermarket clutch will put more strain on the transmission and axles, because it bites a hell of a lot harder than the stock clutch......and with very little room to slip as you mentioned. Putting drag radials and adding a Stage II kit is definitly going to make it worse. I don't think the stock axles are going to cut it, based on how you drive.
