Dic

So I purchased my car a week ago and strangely it didn't come with an owners manual. I've been searching for a pdf online and have no luck. I can't figure out how to reset my trip meters so I can check my gas mileage. Also, i'm not 100% sure how the DIC is calculating my average mpg, is it doing that after each fill up or just always calculating it no matter what? Thanks.

For the aver. mpg, it's always calculating by driving habits how hard your accelerations, highway or city drives, etc etc you'll notice after some spirited driving it will go down. What year is your car? for my 07 with the trip meter you just hold the reset button. i forgot which one it is though i usually don't pay attention to that. i think its the one with the arrow.

To reset your trip meters, simply select them in the DIC, as in click the button till then come up, then hold the button that looks like a backspace for about 5 seconds.

Go to this site: http://www.gm.com/gmownercenter/ and you should be able to download the owners manual from there.

How did you get a brand new car and not get an owner's manual? I would goto the dealership you bought the car at and try to ge them to order you one in as well.

The gas mileage is calculated indefinately until you reset it. If you want it to calcualte between each fill up you need to reset it at each fill up.

just FYI, it doesnt use highway mileage or anything like that...All it does is take injector pulse width (aka, the exact amount of fuel being used) / miles traveled and bam
