Did someone say factory freak?

OMG, Well me, Merc, and Cvenom2122 went to the dyno today and ran our cars.

I have an 06 SS with a 2.5 magnaflow Exaust. Other then that its stock performance wise. Well I was mightly surprised when I hit this # on the dyno!

Mustang dyno #

Merc has an 05 SS with an intake and I dont remember his #'s but they where like 242 I think.

My brother Cvenom has a 04 redline and has intake and a 3.0 inch exaust with no resinator and put down 246. needless to say I am VERY happy, now I will get intake, stage 1 and 2, and I will be good to go

i double dog dare you to go post that on the srt forums.

jk, then the bad ones of the group will migrate over here. nice #'s

BUT, may i ask what kind of dyno it was? there are such things as factory freaks but what are the chances of there being 3 of them dyno at the same shop on the same day? that seems a little high even for a factory freak. do you know what any other cars (stangs, camaros etc) average dyno #'s are on that particular dyno?

Why is the weight exactly 3250? And what was the correction factor applied?

link? they're gonna go nuts over there

but honestly, dont those #'s seem high, even for a factory freak? and doesnt it seem like a coincidence that all 3 dyno'd at over 240whp? and on top of that Mustang Dyno's usually put out lower readings than a Dynojet or other dyno's. Im not trying to call BS or bash the guys car, but that just seems too good be true, to me anyway.

Very cool if it's an accurate dyno reading, but damn, that's seems really high even for a 3rd gear pull!

the only reason i know this dyno isnt bull, is because they had a mustang GT dyno sheet laying around and he only made 225 whp stock :

what year mustang? it matters.

again guys, not calling BS, dont take it personal. but having 3 super factory freaks at the same dyno on the same day? you can see why it would raise some eyebrows.

Good numbers, but you can't say that your 06 is a factory freak, because the two other cars ran some nearly equals results.

I think I can explain something about your high numbers. I saw on your dyno sheet; the weight is 3250. On my own dyno tests we used, we entered 3000 lbs. The more weight you enter, the more the dyno is "impressed" and says : Wow that heavy car is strong, thus resulting in higher numbers.

But since the Mustang dyno is precise, the entered weight cannot fool it and the one you used calculated an acceleration time of 14.5 @ 99 MPH for the quarter mile, a realistic time for a Cobalt SS/SC with a replaced exhaust.

:O)

Theres just no way thats accurate. Mustang dynos give much lower numbers than dynojet. Theres no way your making 250 on a mustang dyno, thats closer to 300 on a dynojet, thats 350 at the motor. Theres just no way.

Plus, those HP numbers don't line up with 1/4 mile times that are only trapping 100. I don't know why there off, but they are.

BUT, you could solve it all by getting to another dyno. If you really believe in your numbers, that shouldn't be a problem and you'll want to back them up. Or atleast race some car with HP numbers close to those.
