::::shrug:::: Maybe its just me but aren't you wasting more time trying to disable them then you could ever spend turning the headlight switch backward?

Oh well best of luck, I guess.
Maybe he gets in and out of his car 20 to 30 times a day. I DO for work!

I have the opposite problem. I have tinted windows, and in the evening before the sensor allows the lights to come on, it gets a little tough to read the gauges. If you just manually turn on the lights the dash lights do not come on too. You have to wait until the sensor turns on the lamps to get dash lights on. I usually just place something on top of the sensor to activate them. It is almost dark out before my lights will come on by the sensor.

Take it into the dealer, they will fix this. I had this issue and it took them calling GM to get it right.

They reprogram the sensor to make the dash lights stay on all the time. It works out really nice if you have dark ass tints. There was actually a service bulletin about it, so there must have been quite a few people complaining about it.

Too the orginal poster...

Hate to say it, your problem isnt the DRL. its your projectors. too much power if going to the lights which is causing them to burn out.. jsut add a resister and reduce the amount of power.

BTW i didnt read the thread so if this has already been mentions ingore it

dude I think you can do it in the menu. turn the car to accesory mode and hold the enter and i button together for at least 11-12 seconds. When you release you will go into the menu and you should be able to disable them I think. As far as disabling the auto lights when you do it with the left stick and hit the enter button on the dash it should keep them off but I have never tried that b4b said thats what he did.

I want the headlights soo there not automatic, so I have to manualy turn the lights off and on, not if its too dark they come on automaticaly, lol

so NO MORE DRLs comments, I know all about them!! More than I want to know! lol I know there a safety feature, and its illegal to disable them and yeah....

How do I disable the automatic headlight feature, were if its dark they come on automaticaly, and when its light out they stay off, lol soo far all I have is to jump those 2 wires going to the sensor together, and like DOC said get into the computer and do it there, I want to be able to turn the switch anytime night or day and the head lights and the dashlights come on. lol
AGREED, people aren't answering the question.. I'm getting HID's in the next couple of days and I don't want them coming on and me turning them off immediately(sounds like they would blow eventually). Has no one figured out a way to DISABLE this function??

Bottom line... unless someone figures out how to reprogram the BCM, there's nothing you can do to deal with the dimmed HU and DIC. Oh well, the HID's are what matter and you'll find what you're looking for in the thread. I rocked this for over a year with both my Balts and it works great.

haha well I started thinking that when I get my HID's, them being turned on and off repeatedly will wear em eventually. But if i could turn them on whenever I need to that would be better.
