Does adding power mods=less gas mileage?
If you have a super or turbo charged car and add power mods like stage 1,2, or twin charged kit(I know it's not out yet just asking)or bigger s/c, t/c, will your gas mileage go down? Keep in mind that I am new to modding and F/I cars.

Adding things that promote effciency will actually net you a little gain in mileage . Things like a cold air kit , cat back , high flow converter , ignition box ect. Adding more boost though , with bigger injectors is gonna ding ya a bit . Couple stage 2 with a cold air and a cat back and mileage probably will not suffer toooo much . GM's PCM tune is still gonna be on the conservative side of things rather than for max performance with the staged kits .

Don't forget, GM's stages come with upgraded fuel injectors - more fuel into your engine should immediately tell you that you're going to use more fuel up. I'd field a guess that on the highway cruising you'll probably only notice a 1-2 mpg drop, but if you romp on it everywhere, you'll be looking at awful mileage, like Lamborghini Diablo or Dodge Ram HD mileage. Any SRT guys with the staged upgrades want to chime in here? I know the Mopar kits also come with bigger fuel injectors.
Slightly off-topic, on an eight-pass trip to the drag strip I used up 2 gallons of gas, so I only got 1 mpg!

More Fuel and Air = More Power... Of course if properly tuned the MPG loss should be minimal when just cruising and even in a lot of part throttle situations.. But I would guess for most people the more power your have.... The power your foots into the peddle ... when definitely means your MPG will drop...

Yes, I would say you won't notice decreased mileage under non heavy throttle situations.
You can have giant fuel injectors, but if the throttle isn't open, it's not going to matter.
As always, it heavily depends on how you drive. Increased power means your car has the POTENTIAL to guzzle more gas, but it depends on what you do with that potential.

Well with my other car 2002 Camaro SS and my previous 2003 Mustang GT mileage went up with certain modifications.
The most noticable mileage increase on both cars came after re-flashing the ECM.
As for the SS/SC it is really no different, unless you are WOT all of the time the bigger injectors and boost won't make a difference. As for the re-flash it will most likely increase MPG.
With a piggy back unit and pulley you will most likely see a MPG decrease due to the fact that it is playing with ECM input readings to make up for more boost.
