im kinda with you as people usually only join car forums when they already have the car, but i have certainly seen people post up looking for cobalts.

I've seen a couple of cars exchange hands between members and I havnt even been here that long.

On the S10Forum it happens all the time. Not unusual for guys to have one as a driver and one for show/go.

I didn't join this forum to buy a car, but because I already have one. But in the future I will join other forums to look for other cars that I might like to buy because most likely if I do buy a modded car than a forum member will have it done more quality than a non forum member. Also it seems like you can pick up cars for tons cheaper on a forum than a dealership (obviously) but they also seem cheaper on here than on ebay and sites like that.

plus you have members that know the member selling the car so you may know better what you're getting yourself into

The flip side of that are the members that over price their cars because they are too attached to it.

that is true...i've seen that alot and I understand you put alot of time money sweat tears and blood into the car...trust me we all did, but these guys asking 12k for a car with 100k miles is a big bogus regardless of the hp it puts down....

I put my car back to stock knowing that I will only get MAYBE the kbb value of it...all those mods are money in my pocket

I've seen quite a few people buy cars from other members of this forum. I'm open to buying a car through someone on a forum. There are few things that make it hard to buy the car you want sometimes. The biggest one is distance.

I'm looking around for a SS/TC sedan. I've been keeping an eye out for them on here. Of course when we are looking for cars, we tend to be a bit picky. For example, I really want a blue SS/TC sedan with LSD either stock, or relatively stock. I'm open to a few other colors. I'd settle with yellow or or sport tintcoat red if I can't find a blue one, but the blue one I've seen for sale is in TX... It's kinda hard for me to set my heart on a car that is that far away. If it was a bit close say within like 200 to 300 miles, I would probably have it already

See if you can find a member to test drive and look it over for you. Then fly out, drive back.

Just go man. My Colorado was almost 700 miles away. Decided I wanted it, and a week later my brother and dad loaded up in the car with me and off we went. Had a blast with them and fell in love with the truck the moment I laid eyes on it. I'd do it again in a heartbeat if one of them found something far away.

I did. I had my car when I joined, but did a trade with another member a while ago. I'd almost rather go through a forum when it comes to modded cars. You can see the persons history with the car and most likely, they knew what they were doing. Even if it wasn't modded, you know they took somewhat good care of it since they joined a forum to learn more about it.

If you have to travel a long distance don't let it play a role in your decision to buy the truck.

I wish I would have looked here before I bought mine. Knew I wanted an SS but could have been ahead if I would have shopped here first.

When I first joined this forum it was with the intent to buy. I didn't buy from on here though.

I joined this forum to learn about the ss! I bought one away from the forum, sold that car local, and bought my new ss from a member! I think a lot of forums are the same way.

I looked on the Acura forums for a TL, but most of them there are modded or way over priced

Chances are the car will be modded though if it's coming from a forum.
