I ran 19 seconds on my first run.

Stalled it on the launch

ran 14.6 though on the second try.

Yeah, I ran a 16, so what? It was my first time at the track and I also learned alot. Once I finish fixing my mistakes I won't run it again. I also dropped a second off my time the very next run I did after I ran a 16. So I guess since I've made a grand total of 3 quarter miles passes my whole life I'm stupid? I'm also 22 and I just never went to the track before. Reserve harsh judgement for cases where you know what the **** you're talking about.

your kidding right? You can easily shave that 1/10th with just a better launch.

1. I'm 27
2. 4 times. 3 running in 3 different cars, once as crew
3. Driven stick on and off since I was 17

I know it's not easy, but it's possible. May not hit on the first run, but 2nd or third will.

my first time @ the track i only did 15.13 with 800mi on the car. I was very disapointed cuz i was expecting a high 13sec car. Ive been driving stick since i was fifteen but i dont do drag racing. idk maybe car hasnt broken in yet that time. But now with 8,000mi on the car i can tell it's alot different.

ive ran 16.5 in my stock ss/sc. missed a gear bigtime. ive also ran 14.6 in the same car. hell, last friday i ran a goddamn 19.xx when the tranny broke and started dumping gear oil. bad driving happens. broken stuff happens. shouldnt be a shocker that even quick cars can run slow times.

Wow, i did something like a while ago. Stock, I ran mid 15's all night (at 6800ft) and then dialed at 14.9 and ran a 14.8 to break out. Sometimes it just doesn't go as planned.

At least hes trying and improving. Keep giving him tips and he will get better. None of you where perfect the first time you ran the car!

GL man, ive been driving manual my whole life. And ive taken every car ive ever owned to the track numerous times. And the fastest i hit my first night was 14.8. Took me 3 times to hit 14.6 stock. Its damn hard, especially if you have never launched a supercharged Front wheel drive car before....

that is very rare...but when that much money is on the line, I'd dial in what I've been consistently running all night.

Also, there's no giving this kid tips. He's one of the few ss s/c driver's I have met that is a total jerk off.

There will always be people who will make fun of your poor driving abilities if you run excessively slow times in a car that they know to be faster.

The reverse is more fun, however:

What I especially like when going to milan with the Mercedes are the reactions I get from people who don't know what's under the hood.

Lady at ticket booth "You're spectating, right?" "No..." "You're going to run in THAT?!"

People in the stands "hahaha that thing can't even do a burnout, watch this mustang smoke it" "HOLY **** THAT THING JUST RAN 12 seconds oh my god!"

etc.

Another thing that I noticed will take an entire second off your 1/4 mile time is if you keep your foot to the floor during shifts, i.e. don't let off the gas to shift.

These cars have traction problems on the 1-2 shift already, wouldn't that just send the tires into clouds of smoke? I haven't really tried it yet, but if it will help...

I'm taking my Redline to the track for the first time next wednesday. Expecting low 15s, to be reasonable. I'm pretty confident in my clutch/stick abilities, so hopefully I'll be running solid 14s by the end of the night.

IF you don't powershift, you don't go fast.

No it will not send the tires into a cloud of smoke, what do you think this is a BMW M3?

lol

You'll get a "bang" as the engine torques on it's mounts during a 1-2 powershift.

Try driving a '63 Dodge Dart with a slant 6 and push button manual. Car had 100,xxx miles and ran a mid 18 on stock rubber.

Maybe, that's how I blew my first half shaft...

At milan, excellent launch, powering up to redline, shift, bang, engine is no longer connected to wheels.

I granny shifted and still managed to screw up my clutch, or so it seems. Bad things can happen when racing. If you can pay to replace what breaks, then go all out.

Doesn't your car bang off the rev limiter when you do that?
