Does removal on OnStar void warranty?
I have never liked the idea of Onstar (sort of Big Brother mentality bothers me) and have never used its services. I understand that in an accident it may have its benefits but it is something I would rather not have.
So as a hypothetical scenario, if somebody were to remove the Onstar computer and all the accessories linked to it, would that void the warranty in any way? Does the warranty require it to be there?

Just don't pay for it and it doesn't work.
Honestly if you think Onstar is the only thing in your car that could track something you need to look a little deeper. Every car has a black box just like a plane that records data for a few seconds. If you are in a wreck someone can find out exactly what you were doing right before it.

I am just annoyed with the system because they gave me the 1 year free even though I didnt want it and I even get the occasional telemarketer trying to call me on the built in phone which I never use.
All I want is a car that drives and has a stereo....thats it....none of this fancy Onstar BS
So being saved in a car accident isn't worth what ever retarded crack pot theory you have about being watched.
So why do you think your so great that some one would waste there life watching yours?

And I am fully aware that GM has no interest in listening to my conversations....
So let me say yet again, what bothers me is the occasional telemarketer trying to contact me via the built in phone and the automated sign up for the free 1 year service which I didnt want.
So I am posing the HYPOTHETICAL question as to whether or not its removal will void the warranty.
Uggh.....(slaps forehead)......Did you not read my original post? I fully acknowledge its benifits in an accident.

i dont think removing the box will make onstar stop calling.. imo..
Theres no reason to take it out.. just dont use it..
you can ask if they will stop calling you?

yes you could do the do not call list, but couldnt you also do the aftermarket headunit. depending on what year, because like on the 06, the 70-2103 harness removes the onstar function to your radio.
