Talking Driver Mod

Hey guys just got a new car. 06 ss love it 5 spd manual. I can drive it smoothly but i cant drive it fast.

My dad told me this technique. At a stop rev the car to about 2500 rmps and let the clutch out really fast but not dropping it. walk into the gas as quickly as possible without spin until your WOT. When the car gets to the red line push in the clutch and barely take your foot off the gas. once you feel the trans disengage from the engine ram it into the next gear and let the clutch out then immedietly go WOT again. repeat every gear.

How do you guys race?

EDIT 2.4l of course!

wide open throttle

i rev to about 2200 rpms, feather out the clutch and to into the gas the same. when i shift there is a point were the clutch grabs and releases. find that point and you only have to push the clutch about 1-2 inches to disengage.

Why oh why would you want to twin turbo a 4cyl? Especially a Cobalt.

My Turbo'd 2.4L makes all the staged SS/SC's look slow.

well you're on the right track with how to shift fast. Every car is different so you'll just have to get a feel for it.

and ya turbo (no twin) that beast and you'll be surprising a few people.

your right with just barely disengaging the clutch, and quickly throwing it into the next gear, make sure not to just drop the clutch into second, and when you add power, possibly third. if you chirp the tires thats traction loss=speed loss.

slow is smooth, smooth is fast. fast is awesome.

in the end it really just comes down to how well you get to know your car, and staying calm helps, it allows you to shift more efficiently and consistently.

Please let off the gas when you shift. Unless you buy a turbo balt since it has "no lift shift" or you buy a very good clutch.

Here's another driver mod i'f you're in trouble with the law...
When you get pulled over, pull as far off to the right as possible, turn the car off (don't forget your 4-ways), and put the keys on the dash in front of the steering wheel. Put both your hands on the steering wheel as well, and wait for the cop to ask you for your stuff. It really does help get you out of, or lessen the tickets!

And good driver mod yourself too!

Why would they be pissed? It shows you aren't any threat of a pursuit?...
