GM's engineers love to change random things between model years for some stupid reason. I prefer the DRLs as the turn signals myself, so I just ended up pulling the DRL fuse to shut them off. I don't think there's any feasible way to switch back to the old system or I would have done it already.

As far as I know the DRLs are controlled in the computer somehow... there's no way to switch them that I know of.

Definately glad I got an 06

If you don't like the daytime lights, pull the fuse.... It's seperate from the headlights themselves. (DRL's are a lower voltage... thanks Josh for the info)
It won't throw any codes or anything...

one thing i learned by accident is if you turn off autolights, all lights will go off, including the daytimes. i personally like the orange daytimes better than the whole headlight, something about the orange lights on a black car looks cool. but i drove home from work today for the first time with no lights on, was kind of cool. havn't done that since my z24 days! lol.

Nope , the channeling of all the light outputs is handled with the Body Control Module . The killer is theres no separted wire . The DRL output and the headlamp out run thru the same wire . Just as in the parking light DRL's , theres no way to separate it as they share the same wire out of the BCM .

New GM wiring while definately uses alot less wiring is evil to modify

So pulling the fuse for the DRLs won't do anything...? 'Cause I just turn them off everytime i get in the car...pulling the fuse would be easier.

I hate having my headlights on all the time so I just put my fogs on during the day. I think the car looks best with just the fogs on anyways.

Pulling the fuse will turn the DRLs off for good with no side effects at all.

Pulling the fuse ALSO cuts your dash lights at night UNLESS the headlamps are on.

With my 5% tint, I have to shut the DRL's off by flicking the auto on/off.

Maybe I confused myself and did it right back I pulled mine.
