i got a k&n intake installed on my ss/sc. now i'm guessing you have a normal cobalt, where the intake is on top of the engine. mine's just infront of the left front tire down near the ground. the day i put the intake on, when i say it downpoured, i mean, big deep puddles within 5 minutes, and it rained that hard for a good 20-30 minutes, and i was driving around. the hydoshield was on my intake, but i never had any problems. no signs of any water getting in.

i ran the bypass valve on my intake when i had it on. it worked wonders. trust me if water hits the MAF u will know it cause the car will run like ****. ive had it happen. i also ran the hydro shield too. with both on there i had no problems at all.

good stuff, the only problem is that i have a fujita intake, so there is no middle piece before the maf sensor. the only place i cood put it wood b the part where the plastic intake housing connects to the intake is, right in there. unless i like put it right where the filter is, lol. but if my paintball **** sells im deff gettin a hydro shield and then an ebay bypass valve, but for how my intake is set up i think my best bet is to go with a hydro shield
