Engine CODES!!!!
nope. didnt really have a reason to...however he did have two readiness monitors deleted so the car would pass inspection. i need to bring the car back and have him turn those back on but i just cant get ahold of the guy. sam just drove down there to find him. im debating on doing the same thing.
Only reason I ask is because if it's been a whole then it could need a refresher that's all just to make sure everything is in proper working order. He will also be able to read other codes and that were shut off and such.
i know he is very very busy so the only way to possibly get a hold of him is to call the shop and see if they answer or just show up lol
i would see what their shop hours are and just swing by to see what they say. let them know whose car it was before and then go from there. i honestly dont know of any other dyno tune shops that have done cobalts in the area. what i would do is get your hands on hp tuners and then find someone to remote tune you here on the forum
it would be nice to have an HP tuner. but i dont know anything about them or how to use them and i know you have to by credits for them or however it works. but why do you think i need to retune my car though?
IIRC, the HPtuners come with 8 credits to get you started (I think for the cobalt you need 2, I could be wrong, I haven't done it yet). You'll only need to buy more credits if you want to start using it on other peoples cars
oh ok. well i have no idea what i would do with it though. or how to use it. for me, it may be a bit of a waste. i dont want to screw around with my car either to figure it out....maybe if i had a spare cobalt lying around. haha.
I think with HP tuners you can save your existing tune onto it, then if you mess with something and it doesn't work out you can revert back to your original tune. That's how a lot of guys learn, try this, didn't work, go back, try this, that works... Its trial and error, just don't make big errors and do your research about what different parameters affect.
im just saying to get it gone over again to make sure everything is still in check thats all. its been years since hes had that car tuned man. i would have my car looked at 2-3 times a year just to keep an eye on things. its just a thing i did to know my car was still running properly and the fuel trims were still spot on. thats just me though. if you think its running fine, then ok but what seems like "fine" to you could be even better or theres something minor that needs adjusted and you dont know it.
ok. im pretty sure it was tuned this year. sam put on a new engine back in march and from what he said, he had it dynod when the new motor went in. but taking it back there does sounds like a good idea.
oh ok gotcha. well then it should be ok but things like this never hurt. its just a good re assurance.
i think the speedometer need reset. i drove past this cop speed radar thingy on the highway and it should me going like 65 or something and my speedo was at 70. and my check engine light just went off....and of course it went off after flooring my car around. so who really knows what the hell was going on.
This car might be a little complex for you if you don't want to have something to help you figure things out. It is 11 years old and things will slowly start failing on it. You don't want to have to ask for help on everything that needs done to fix it or diagnose it. Just my 2 cents.
