An excellent suggestion for a Cobalt SS replacement (not Cruze)

Hey guys,
I test drove the sourced from Europe, German Buick Regal FWD Sport Sedan this past Friday. What an excellent car, the 2.4L SIDI Ecotec was acceptable at best, a little anemic, but with a 2.0L Turbo SIDI LNF derived engine good for 220hp (not sure on torque) obviously detuned compared to our SS/TC's due out later this year with a six speed manual or automatic, it should be a fun car. Run trifecta or HPT on it and call it a day, shock some G37's, 335i's, TL's, TSX's and some V6 muscle cars Ride quality was excellent, very quiet, shifts were crisp, well laid out cabin.

This vehicle is the Opel Insignia, European Car of the Year, in the EU.

I don't believe it's green lighted yet, but Recaro style seat, Brembo brake, LSD, AWD rumored Buick Regal Grand Sport is supposedly in the works. I believe its the same Haldex AWD system from the Saab 9-3X.

Highs: Exceptional ride quality, NHV, build quality, seats and overall design (interior/exterior)

Lows: plastic in center stack, while of high quality left me wanting a more Audi-inspired environment, 2.4L SIDI is for soccer mom's (must get 2.0L Turbo engine), negative connotation associated with Buick name due to every car before this not named Grand National since 1980.

Looking forward to: car is worth buying with 6speed and 2.0L Turbo just to see the shocked look on BMW and Infiniti owners faces when you pass them with your tuned and modded Buick, yes Buick. That awestruck in disbelief look on those drivers is worth buying this car, which for a vehicle starting at 27,000 US $ and going upwards of 34,000 US $ has all the right value and features (Blue tooth, USB, Ipod, projector headlamps, 18's, turbo4/6speed) at a reasonable price relative to competition.

I test drove it and I suggest you take a look at one before replacing your Cobalt SS, this will definitely be on my shopping list of replacements for my SS/TC. Test drive one, I believe you will be impressed

Happy 4th of July

Gallery of Regal photos in grey/gunmetal, obviously not loaded up or with the 18's/projectors:

Throw some rims on it and tint the windows, could be a decent looking car. Almost looks like a Toyota Camry though.

^^^hahaha, thanks, yes maybe I should have put "RS" Rarely Sporty Muscle(?) cars instead

No, I'm not particularly fond of the stock 17's in the Regal, but throw on a nice pain of 5 spoke or dual multi spoke rims, and it'd be very sharp. I enjoyed my test drive, though I wish it had been a 2.0l Turbo one...
