I want my car to sound deep and throty not ricey.. more torwards srt-4 and wrx, any advice?

I havn't heard a magnaflow exhaust on our cars yet, but when I had one on my 99 VW GTI VR6, it sounded mean as hell. I'm assuming it would give similar results with our cars.

 

Vr6 engines are supposed to sound mean, thats their nature. our engines sound mean as rice when the wrong exhaust is put on. I think the magnaflow exhaust sounds ricey. Wait to see what the borla or corsa exhausts sound like.

 

I know the VR6 is supposed to sound mean, but out of all the exhausts I've heard on the VR6, the Magnaflow sounded the best. I was just assuming it would sound good on our cars as well. If anyone has any sound clips that would be really good.

 

I don't think the Magnaflow sounds ricey at all. But anyway, Corsa and Borla are coming out real soon. Just wait until they come out and compare them.

SRT-4 Sounds like that because of a Turbo blocking the exhaust.

WRX Sounds like that because it's a Boxer style engine, IMO think they sound like crap.


They key to making a four cylinder sound good is eliminating resonance and not using a fart can style muffler.

What! hell no... subarus have the nicest sounding 4 cylinders out there. the deep subtle exhaust note just wraps around your ears.
think i'm going to drive a subaru now...
but yeah i second that last part.

 

exactly. That's why I've decided not to put an exhaust on my car. 4 bangers don't sound too good when they're loud, with the exception of the WRX.

 

Subaru's sound like two lawn mowers sitting side by side with both set to Choke.

 

A lot of people like the way Suby's sound. Personally I hate the way they sound. American v8 is the sound I go for, too bad I can't afford one.

 

Buy a 69' Chevelle and you'll have no problems with sound.
Outherwise i go with the borla, i have had in the past and they always sound good!
