If your serious about it look up EXHAUST FLAMETHROWER KIT on yahoo or google.

All it is is a sparkplug in your tailpipe by the tip, a plug wire, a way of transferring electircity to it, and a fuel cut off to send fuel to the pipe.

Not hard to install.

They did it on TRUCKS!

And I've seen a car with it around town...not to great

Not really.

The reason of a car that is naturally shooting flames is typically cause of a car running rich and shoots out an excessive amount of unburned fuel through the exhaust system. Being that it's a very high temperature, it can basically explode in your exhaust stream causing flames.

It's not necessarily a good thing to do but it sometimes happends.

Although, it looks bad ass and the backfires that go along with it are nasty!

In old school carbed cars you could run it rich, or when you wanted to shoot flames get out and tweak the needle valve, but in fuel injected cars you have to run an injector to the tailpipe as well as a sparkplug and coil. That does nothing to your cat, but it's pretty f@#&ing crazy. BIG danger of setting your car on fire and insurance won't cover that! But if you have ever heard a car throw flames in person it sounds like a jet car!

you follow these steps:

1) Give cobalt to someone that deserves it
2) Buy cheap import
3) Buy TONS of stickers and decals
4) Buy Supersoaker
5) Fill super soaker with gasoline
6) Rig "Super high tech ignition device" on your tailpipe
7) Pull trigger of supersoaker
8) End yourself

o, this was a joke by the way... didn't mean to offend anyone

Buy a rx7 turbo and mod it. They are known to throw flames. Shoot my NA rx7 shoots flames with all of the smog stuff ripped off of it. Just run it up to the rev limiter. Back off the gas and then stab it again. I have a video somewhere. I will see if I can dig it up.

those rx7s are and were very notorius for starting fires-like wild fires. but they're so nice.

Also, I have seen a BONE STOCK RX8 shoot some small blue flames out of both tips. It looked really nice!

I believe the correct term is "afterfire" not "backfire". Backfire happens when the explosion of fuel occurs in the intake side of the engine, afterfire happens when excess fuel is dumped into the exhaust system. It doesn't necessarily mean something is wrong. Turbocharged Ferraris are notorious for this and the F40 makes a terrific hissing sound, like a dragon as it happens. Yet another reason why it's one of the coolest cars ever.

Anyway, if you want to do it just remove your cats, that should do the trick.
