Flywheel blue hotspots?

Ok im currently having a clutch replaced that the dealer offerd to do for free. So i dropped it off and about 2 hours later i get a call to tell me i have to get my flywheel re surfaced or i need to by a new one because my current one was so covered with Blue hot spots that if they put the clutch on it would shatter. Now i drive like a normal person and i use my car for daily driver just as everone else. Ive only drive it hard every once and a while. Like maby every other week or so. and usually thats not that much. now i know i couldent have caused all those spots. could this be form the clutch problems i was having when i first got the car?

My understanding is those spots are created from hesitating a bit as you let out\push in the clutch, essentially riding the clutch. I will admit some times in traffic this happens and my stock clutch has the same spots on it. This (again as I understand it) leads to the dreaded slipping we "periodically" feel when shifting 1-2 and 2-3 in aggressive driving.
