Fml.

So, I've been considering getting rid of my SS/SC and upgrading to a TC.
Weeell, I started browsing last night, found a few I liked.
Today I find a summit white SS/TC.
Imagine my excitment. I call the place to talk to them, everything sounds awesome.
Then I realize that I owe more than my car is worth.. by a long shot.
I already had the bank informed that I'd be taking out a new loan and all.
And for those who don't know, trying to sell a SC is incredibly hard.
No one wants one.. at all.
So now I have a dealership holding the car of my dreams and I just want to kick the **** out of my car and only refrain because that would depreciate the value even more.

This is my sob story.
I needed to vent, ha.
..fml.

The whole cutting the value of the SC's in half because the TC's came out can go suck one. lol.

thats why you always pay over your monthly payment, my Ram was 347/Mo and i paid over 600 on it, now that i have the Challenger, which the payments are 651/mo, I send them 1000/Mo.

Believe me, I would..
But I'm on Kroger salary, I'm only 18 and I pay 90% of my own expences lol.
I make a little over the payment everynow and then though.

I know the struggles of trying to sell a SS/SC now. It took me almost 5 months to sell my SC but I never owed more than my car was worth. I sold it for 8500 with over 70,000 miles on it. I was able to make a couple grand off the sale. sadly, the new owners friend wrecked the car pretty hard not even 5 days after he received it.

good luck.

You might want to hold out for something better, because in a few years, the SS/TC's will depreciate just as bad.

Mm, your probably right.
I've always loved my car.
I just see more potential in a TC than a SC.

Turbo your SC? I was thinking about changing mine too at one point but the hit you'll take to me wasn't worth it. So I'm just gonna turbo it next summer and drive it another 2-3 yrs. I want a BMW next or something along those lines

Well, the way I'm looking at it is take a car with 80k miles and start changing the engine, or..
Get a car that just came out of the factory that will give me about the same effect.

I have a similar problem. I still owe a bit on my balt, and I want to trade it in .. just not for a tc, for a civic si.

It stinks.

yes its a bad thing. dont get yourself into debt over cars at 18. just be grateful with the sc till its paid off then sell it some something else.

I'd like to get what I owe out of it but I know better than that.

I wouldn't consider myself in debt.
I make my payments with no problem on time every month.
I'm not worried about that.
I just dont want to sell a car and then still owe alot on it.
Otherwise I'd be fine.

I know it is.
But I also feel like owing so much more on a car then what its worth is also something like being in debt?

All in all you guys are making me feel like keeping my car.
At least for a while.
Which is probably what I wanted out of this thread.
My cars just getting up there in miles.

When I was 18 I was still driving a 93 Nissan pickup truck... shortly after my birthday I bought my Cavalier, a 2002 LS (2.2L OHV)....

Be greatful with your SS/SC.... just pay if off, and eventually trade it in for something better than a Cobalt.

i feel your pain brother. i have an ss/na and owe about 3000-4000 more than it's probably worth, and I really want an ss/tc. I decided to "boost" my car payments each month to get it down faster.

Haha, I'm sure we'll live.
I just feel like the whole 80k miles and counting is going to make it worth like twenty dollars and a mcdouble in a few years.

you guys gotta understand that after paying for a 20,000 dollar car over 6 years, its only going to be worth about 4500 bucks. Thats why buying a new car doesnt pay in the long run. For example, my brother wanted an AWD Hemi Charger, a new 2009 would have set him back 40-45k, i found him a used 2007 AWD Hemi Charger with 35,000 miles for 20k. So, in 2 years, the car was 50% off, def. worth it.

Just keep the car. Not many 18 year old kids can say they have something like you do. if its too slow save up and slowly pour some money into it and make it quicker. Before too long id imagine your going to be one of only a handful that still have their SC's lol
