Focus svt
i owned a focus hatchback with the 2.3 duratec engine, cosworth made stage kits(about 1k each) so with a little over 2000 dollars, it came with cams, header/exhaust, intake, manifolds, tb, tune, and maybe some other stuff, and it would get you to about 200 whp, from 143 or whatever i had. if only they had that for our 2.2 cobalts...
The N20 Focus was rated slower than the SS/SC even on N20.
And how does a 75 shot make it a 13 second car?
A stock SVT puts down what 145whp so with a 75 shot it wil put down maybe 210-215whp.
The FSVT isn't a lightweight by any means so hows it possible. I smell BS................

Do we have to explain physics??
The SVTF weighs 2700lbs at least 200 less than our Cobalts. Your nose sucks.

The SVT msrp'd for a lot less than the SS/SC. Most people paid 16/17k for it, brand new. I got mine with 9k miles and over a year old for 11k.
Also our SS/SCs take a lot of cues from the SVTF.

SVT focus, $18,830 MSRP... http://www.svt.ford.com/vehicleFocusSpecs.asp
Cobalt SS/SC, $21,465 MSRP http://www.chevrolet.com/cobalt/
A difference of $2,635 have a good day.
If it wasn't for the SVTF there would be no SS/SC.

The similarity just for the interiors is uncanny, not to mention a few other similarities. And actually there are a lot of things that are better on the SVTF then the SS/SC, interior being one, transmission(not clutch thats for sure), option for HIDs, limited edition, better warranty.
yeah, they only made a certain amount of SVT's in each color. makes you kinda feel special about owning one. also probably why they keep their value pretty well..
and i'm not 100% sure..but i thought i heard the SVT seats were just non-badged recaro's .
and how much do cobalts really weigh? i have a cobalt with no options no nothing, and my little registration paper thing says it weighs 2700

I don't think they were Recaros but they were comfy with adjustable lumbar.
The SS/SC are over 2900lbs, so im sure your car is 2700 or so.

The SS was a little cheaper, but with more power. The svtf was lightweight (I pushed it up a hill when it broke down, so I know) and had an awesome exhaust system stock, but it was a POS.
And your comment that there would be no 2.0 without the svtf. What about the SRT-4? Do you think that car probably had more influence?
I do agree that the svtf had many "little things" about it that was cooler than the cobalt. I like the electroluminescent gages, oil temp gage, stereo is better, the wheels are nicer, the HID's rock, and the stock exhaust header dominates! I also loved the dual intake manifolds; when the longer intake switched to the smaller one at 5500 rpm, it had a VTEC feel.
Bad things: it's a hatchback. After a while away from it, I look at them now and realize how dorky I must have looked driving one. Horrid reliability. I only had the car to 22k miles, and it broke hard six times. The first two gears suck and that is one of the biggest reason for it being so slow.

Do you think the SVT had any influence on the SRT-4? So to answer your question... No, I think the SVT had more influence than the SRT on our cars.

And the standard SVT seats were black leather with the choice of Red or Blue cloth inserts.
The blue insert seats look a little similar to the Redline Recaro seats though....sort of the same insert material.

I won't be the first to say the SVT Focus hauls ass with Turbo conversion kit. I got spanked by one from a roll, 1 car less from a dig.

hey
i like the saleen n20 focus i was going to get one because i use to be a ford fan
but they look really nice and there not much u can do to them like looks wise but so much to the engine they are sweet! but we are faster then them even with the nitrous (but if u buy it and fill the nitrous tank ur warranty is gone and u cant fool them with it because they know)
