front license plates...?
i live in cali..someone told me a rumor that we no longer need front license plates...im tired of hearing different things..anyone know a cop or have a link so i cna find out finally what the actual law is....even if i have to have one...is it ok to display in the window....other than that one more quick question to anyone that wants to help...if i ever have to go back to the dealer for warranty coverage..do i have to remove the strut bar ..or does a strut bar have no effect on the warranty?

dont go by a cop. they dont know either.
for instance the law here is all letters and numbers have to be displayed and not manipulated meaning you cant take a black marker to convert a "F" to an "E". I ask a cop and he told me has to be able to see "friendly manitoba on the plate". BS as the law does not read that way. Today I have a plate that is bent and displays just letters and numbers clearly with the print of the law in my glove box. here is a pic of before and after of my plate.

Simple
1. bend as little of the top part of plate as you can at a 90degree angle so the bolt holes are up. use a hammer (or by hand and hammer for finishing to be specific) bend it backward over a 2X4 (peice of wood)
2. drill two holes large enough for self tapping Sheet metal bolts into metal bumper structure.
3. bend as much of the bottom of the plate in a 90degree angle as well.
4. using self tapping Sheet metal bolt attache to bottom of metal bumper structure.
done.

I think that looks awsome, but I have 2 concerns about it...
First, I wonder how much of an effect it has on blocking air going to the radiator. I know that it wouldn't be enough to overheat it or anything, but have you noticed higher operating temps since then? Especially in hotter weather?
Second, you can read the plate fine when you're kneeling down on the ground to take a picture, but a cop driving in a car or truck is going to sit a lot higher than that. Does the overhang on the bumper block the plate at all at a regular viewing hieght as opposed to the low vantage point in your photos?

If there were performance problems do you think I would do it? The half and half photo represents how much more over hang is represented.
heres another picture. standing and over my head.

No need to get snappy!
That's the view I was looking for. Looks good.

I wasnt getting snappy by the way. I was just stating two things that made sense to me. I couldn't understand why you would question over heating or the view that is all.
