So i went to fill my tank tonight, I usually never completely fill it, generally only to about half.. Dont ask why.. But it noticed tonight that I filled it up from a little below 1/8 of a tank. It topped off at 9.3 gallons at the pump and wouldnt go anymore. with a 13 gallon tank and below 1/8 ( 1.6 some gallons?) why wouldn't it fill all the way? Or are our gauges set to drop low even though we have a few gallons left? I always feel like i drop from 1/2 a tank down to below 1/4 of a tank crazy fast, yet i don't drive any different? I get 23.5 all city?

 

It's just the dumb gauge. Mines awful too. Filled up recently when the gauge was between 1/4 and 1/8 mark and I still had 14 litres left in the tank out of the 50. Then after 30ish km of driving it decided it was only 3/4 full(bullsh*t) and proceeded to stay there until it was actually 3/4 full.

 

Dunno about your topping off problem, but the gas gauges do suck.
Drove below E before for awhile. Nerve wrecking, but there's definitely a gallon or so left.

 

the best i can figure the needle will change depending on how your driving/avg mpg calculator/ etc etc cause i've had 1/4th left gone into work and 8hrs later came back out and it was between 1/4 and 1/2 eh whatever hah they are trying to make the gauge change to how much is left based on how your driving instead of the tried and true hey ******* you have this much left watch me drop hah
