Gas Saving Kit - Truth or Useless

http://cgi.ebay.ca/GAS-SAVING-KIT-46...QQcmdZViewItem

Did someone knows the efficiency of that product or has the knowledge to say if it's worth or not.
By reading the description it seems ultra simple and gives ultra positive result all that with an aluminium folded sheet
If it says all that is written this is incredible.
What do you think about it ?

i THINK the government would have implemented this by now...or one of the big car manufacturers at least. gas saving is a big deal now.

EDIT: i say what i do ASSUMING it works...which i highly doubt.

I've actually also wondered if these things work. I've heard stories from people who say that they work... but never had any hard evidence to back it up. I'd be interested in seeing someone dyno, then install this junk and dyno again. At least then there'd be some solid proof of whether or not this works... or has that been done already?

I know it seems far-fetched that this could actually increase hp. However, unlike some other auctions (Mystery Chip gives you 20++++ HP!!!), this actually has some scientific reasoning behind it, be it right or wrong.

Afterall... it's only a $25 experiment.

notorious garbage
does it really make sense?
when the air is in the cylinder, is it still spinning?
wont that just restrict air flow?

My favorite part about that is the for turbo/supercharged engine: place before throttle body and after turbo and intercooler. That isn't possible on these cars....

I didn't say I was going to try it. I said it would be a $25 experiment if someone were to try it when dynoing.

And if I had plans to dyno, I'd do it. $25 is barely anything.... especially to put a definitive end to arguments over these things on the site.

There have been numerous tests on these type of devices. The conclusion is that they hurt performance and efficiency because they are an obstruction in the intake which reduces flow.

Think about it for a minute. First off, the "spinning" the air part. That might work until it separates into the four intake runners of the manifold. Secondly, anything you introduce to the air stream that takes up space reduces the amount of air your engine gets.

Verdict: It's a waste of money.

It does not! Its the Almighty TURBONATOR, its like 1000x cheaper than a turbo setup and gives you like 50psi boost! Thats like 500 extra WHP!!!!

I can get 28mpg in the city if I take it easy. I never drive highway so I have no idea what I could get on the highway. Best gas mileage mod is a lighter right foot.

exactly, those things dont work at all, they "work" psychologically, but reduce the flow so it makes the car sluggish. dont buy into stupid **** like that.

even if it did work car manufacturers & the gov wouldnt put it on cars. They are both in business w/ the gas/oil companies. Thats why hybrids cost so much. If everyone had a hybrid or got better gas mileage then the gas/oil co.s would get less money resulting in the government and manufacturers making less $ too.
