Gauges
Gauges
I was looking into gettting a few gauges or something, just browsing the net, i got a question. How are they hooked up? What do they wire up to, i looked for instructions from different sites, but no luck. I'm looking at going with the COBALT series gauges from AutoMeter. I like the blue indiglo. Can they F*** anything up with the wiring, i dont want to start messing with my car, but how do you hook them up?

what about that stupid gauge that u put in the car and when u turn it turns too.
If they're electronic gauges, you can probably piggyback of the existing wiring for simple things like temp or A/F gauges. There are some gauges for which you'd need a sender unit, because the car doesn't have one stock (like oil pressure), in which case you can get either electronic or mechanical gauges as you see fit. What kind of gauges were you wanting? Send me a PM and I can probably help.
id like to get the COBALT series, i was lookin at getting the Digital/electronic air-fuel, maybe a voltmeter, or oil pressure and idk about any other ones, which ones are easiest to hook up? i'm guessing the volt meter..
The voltmeter is super easy to hook up... probably the easiest there is. The O2 gauge is pretty easy to hook up as well, although it's not the most useful gauge in the world. Oil pressure is probably one of the hardest ones, because you'll have to install the sending unit somewhere yourself.
