Get my Cobalt Friday !! Car Polish?

So, I just got off the phone with the dealer and I'll be getting my 2006 Cobalt SS on Friday. Got it in Black, with the Pioneer Sound System , XM Radio and Sun Roof. Didn't get the leather seats though...

So anyway, since I got it in black I know it's gonna take a lot of upkeep to keep really nice and clean. Someone today refered me to this stuff here [http://www.zainostore.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc]

Has anyone used it before, and if so can they comment on it. If not, can someone point me towards some good high quality stuff to make sure it shines like the day I bring it home.

Thanks so much again you guys
You helped me decide on getting the Cobalt and I can finally ditch this '95 Neon come Friday night!!!

I'll post pictures of my baby

Personally, I would not recommend waxxing for around 3-6 months. But I am sure everyone else who has far more superior knowledge of painting cars, will beg to differ.

I know on any car part I buff, prime, paint, and clear, I always wait about 6 months. Seems the paint lasts longer, letting it settle like sayin.

Well, the guy I work with told me that it was worth every penny. And being an 22 year old engineer that's single. I don't have many expenses, soo if someone tells me it's worth the $ I'm soo getting it.

going from a 95 plymoth neon to a '06 Chevy Cobalt is a big jump for me. I just want to make sure my baby shines and the ladies notice my ride

Yes, Zaino's takes the better part of a day to do 2 coats or so but it is extremely good stuff. The guys over at Stangnet have used it for years with great success. The thing about Zaino is that the more coats you apply, the deeper the shine. It works differently than most waxes do these days where applying added coats does nothing for the car. Make sure you buy the quick-cure additive if you buy zaino's.... so you don't have to wait a day before applying the second coat.

Meguiars & Mothers are both also good.

I use Meguiars Clay/Mirror glaze pure polish/wax/trim detailer/etc. to great effect also. Most recently I've been using the NXT wax but it doesn't seem to last as long as the Deep Crystal so I may switch back.

The only reason why I don't use Zaino's is because I don't have the time (or the garage) to do it right. I need something that I can put on in about 2-3 hours before it gets dark. (it's the only time of day I have shade around here.) And I don't use a buffer because of the swirl marks they can leave.

I was told it would probably take me a Sunday afternoon to do. I was going to buy the whole Zaino Total Protection Show Car Kit. That way I could get the hardener and throw on multiple coats in a single afternoon.

My plan of attack was to use the ClayBar, then power wash it, and then polish it and make sure to get the tires nice and shiney. I figure it's worth the Sunday

That's about right, but you'll find yourself wanting to know exactly how much more shine you can pull out of the car with just 1 more coat. :P

New car paint is cured before it reaches the dealership, there's no need to wait anymore to do it. In fact it's recommended that you clay the car when you get it as just transporting the car from the manufacturer to the dealer the paint will pick up a lot of surface crap such as those super small metal shavings that get imbedded into the paint and then rust (they come from the railroads, and on a white car they really stand out. Bleah.)

All you're doing by not polishing/waxing is letting the paint lose it's natural oils.

At one time, (in the 50's) it was wise not to wash/wax the car for fear of taking the paint off but modern cars are literally baked at very high temps to harden the paint before it leaves the factory. Really the only time you have to worry about this is when you have a car repainted by a 3rd party.
