According to Chevrolet.com, the 2005 Cobalt Coupe is available in 4 "styles", each with its own MSRP: Base, LS1SA, LS1SB, and SS Supercharged. I have an LS Sedan 1SB, but the sales agreement refers to it as a "Cobalt LS Level 2".

Florida first of all I diddent pay 20 for it. After Gm discount and Gm points I got it for 15. Ok some of you Ls owners Just need to own up to the fact that your Ls dosent make yours the top model just because it says Ls. A basic Ls model just ads a sport package wich goes for 16 grand wich means you got yours for 14 with your gm discount! My Ls Is loaded with the sports package and some after that....Pioneer system, Sunroof, Leather interior, etc i'm sorry for sounding so ignorant but some of u Ls owners need to realize that your Ls might not be better than higher models!

I believe the level 2 is just for insurance purposes. My understanding is that since the LS is somewhat nicer than the base model it is considered a level 2 and therfore more expensive to insure. From the research I did prior to getting my car I found that the base models don't have things like the controls on the steering wheel, cruise control, ABS, or maybe even power locks. The upgrade to the LS adds all of those things and then the 1sb package adds even more. Like the 16" wheels, fog lamps, and spoiler.

I still don't see the point in persuing this topic (to the OP). Ok, so you supposedly have a model of LS that isn't listed. OK, but no need to get rash about people thinking their "LS is better than the higher models", the only thing higher than the LS is the SS/SC for the 2005 year. Regardless of the "1sa/1sb", or your "2sb" still LS. Just diff options.....all nice tho
To the OP, what is the point you are trying to convey?

EDIT: ok come on someone has to have a G85 Cobalt? Although mine is better than a G85 since I got it first.

I just got my new Cobalt the other day, July 27, and I have to admit it's better then all youseguys cars. Let's see, what's mine again, a LS, LT, SS, GP, GTO? Think I'll go outside and look again.

I thought that was an ls coupe with sports package. I guess u could call it a sports coupe. I like it though, if i considered buying a 2.2 cobalt it would be an ls sport coupe. the leather seats are just f***ing awsome. but that sucks for insurance being more. if you would have gotten the ss/sc insurance would have been way more, regardless of what you payed. just dont worry about the insurance thing, or, call your agent.

Why are you starting trouble? Lots of folks on here have cars just like yours. Lots have SSs and those guys aren't trying to bash the other cobalts. For the record I have an LS 1sb with every option except leather seats and onstar. You don't sound ignorant you sound petty.

Ok, your car started at $20k before the discounts and you ended up paying $15k. Wouldn't those same discounts of applied to an SS? You still would of payed the same or only slightly more for the SS after those discounts. And my insurance (Nationwide) originally wrote my SS up as an LT. After I corrected them (they have the VIN, they'll figure it out eventually anyways) it made no change in rate on my policy.

Now you said in the other thread that you didn't want an SS because you were going to throw a turbo and your own upgrades on. If you had gotten the SS, then you'd already have the beefed up engine internals that come with it, as well as better brakes, better suspension, better transmission, etc.

Still sounds to me like you got an LS for the price of an SS...
