Getting ready to...
Getting ready to...
Getting ready to purchase a new car before college, and I want opinions and maybe some information. I've narrowed down the possibilites, and the read as such:
Scion tC
Acura RSX Type-S
Mitsubishi Eclipse (4 cyl.)
Cobalt SS/SC
Cobalt SS/NA
Most likely going to come down between SS/NA, tC, and Eclipse, because the others may end up too pricey. I've been leaning towards the Cobalt because I'd love to be driving an American car. It's a rare thing nowadays. Now, what I want to know is, one, about how low do you think a Cobalt SS/SC could be talked down to (I'll take care of the tactics if you give me a price), and two, what do you think of the two Cobalt SS's, in comparison.
Thanks, and I look forward to posting as a member of this forum.

First of all, depending on what options you want on your car(XM radio, ONstar, LSD pkg, Sunroof, side curtain airbags etc) your price will vary. But usually aim for paying no more than $1000 to $1500 over invoice OTD. Second, the cobalt SS/SC and SS/NA are both great american cars! The SS/SC is for those who really want speed and, as of right now, more performance parts availible for it.
The SS/Na also has a choice of a 4 speed Automatic and 5 speed manual tranny, depending on what you want, whereas the SS/SC is only availible with a 5 speed manual.
Basically, the SS/SC is more of a sports car, and the SS/NA is more of a sport-tuned compact car.
Good luck and happy shopping!
