gmpp exhaust tip

I got my touring exhaust in the car, its a pretty easy job if i would have followed the instructions, but i chose to reinvent the wheel... (i lent out my sawzall and didn't want to go try to get it back, long story there) anyways after spending about 45 minutes to tweak the fit as much as i could to get it as good as it is going to get (for a gm part, I would expect better). with everything just how it needs to be i went to finish it off with my nice polished, although WAY too big, angled tip. i slipped it on and felt my eyes begin to slant from all the rice i was staring at.

WHY does gm make the tip stick an inch past the rear bumper? if it was tucked up nice and tight in the bumper cutout, and flush with the end of the bumper, maybe stick out 1/4 of an inch, it would look ok, even being as hugs as it is. but this thing just screams rice.

has anyone trimmed the pipe to let the tip sit in deeper, how does that look? I would be a little reluctant to do it with the poor fit to begin with, if i don't like how it looks then i would be left with an even shorter pipe, which would look even goofer than it does.

does anyone know of a good looking tip that isn't ricey?

anyone wanting to buy a brand new, never used, super riceifying gmpp angle tip?

pics? and what kinda balt do you have? maybe they didnt have the base models in mind. the ss/na has the little lip which i think would hide some of it and the s/c has that lip too.

I don't think mine sticks out to far (touring/angle tip). I think "rice" would be a tip as big around as the muffler.

It looks really big when its not on the car, especially when you are used to the small tip on the stock exhaust. Wait a few weeks though, and see if it looks as big to you.

My exhaust fit perfectly, why did you have fitment issues?

Yeah, I would think the only time a tip = rice is when its:
A: The size of the muffler (as stated above)

or

B: A giant tip on a stock exhaust. (Meaning you went to pep boys, and bought a giant tip and threw it on there, then drilled a hole in your muffler to make people think you have an aftermarket exhaust.)

otherwise, its not rice IMO.

Are you sure you have the tip slid all the way on there? The bowtie on my tip is just barely visible (see avatar pic) that's not sticking out far at all.

GMPP Tip does not equal rice.

Huge fart can - Yes, GMPP - No.

My GMPP Performance Cat-Back fit real nice, no fitment issues at all.

I could try to get a vid, I'll play around with that tomorrow, I'll definatly get a pic tomorrow. its not so much the diameter to me, although it is a bit big. the problem is how freekin far it sticks out. Its like having a 2nd little bumper.

the only real issue i had was getting the resonator high enough without touching the car. It wouldn't have been that big of a deal but I wanted it perfect and had all day to get it there. the tip does sit out in left field, just like everyone else i've seen. I could fix it if i had the tip on, but as it is now no one would notice that it doesn't line up but me.

the sound is nice, very subtle. doing down the highway i keep thinking there is a car next to me, its not really loud at all, but you know its there. idle sounds great, i love it. wot is ok, a little quiet but I'm not trying to draw attention to myself so thats perfect. it sounds "tough" not loud or ricey at all. really nice sound for a 4cyl.

I guess it doesn't look all that bad, but I think its overkill and will attract way too much attention. with the relatively quiet touring exhaust, a big flashy tip it just over the top, and not in a good way. I just don't care for it, but i'm anti anything resembling rice.
