i'm good in keeping a cool head. as far as cybernation goes....just not for me. i'm planning on staying N/A. my goal is 250hp to the wheels w/ no F/I. k-pro i will definently get. evo tt exhaust is a no go for me since i have no plans for F/I.

yeah, but i still want mine to be street legal and also be my daily driver. a S/C would be the easiest and quickest way to get over 250hp. seems like you have decisions to make.

" R " Accessories as in Rice.

And I don't care if a 2000lbs car with 170HP would be fast. It still wouldn't be fast enough to talk about because it still won't have any torque. Does your car weigh 2000lbs?

Like I said before, A RSX isn't a contender at all.

haha, typical fanboy reply. so tell what exactly is rice about a type R? is it the spoiler? cuz if it is you might wanna go take a look at yours.

i never said my car weighs 2000lbs. and for your information you don't need much tq if your car only weighs 2000lbs.

go tell this guy in this civic that his torque-less car is slow. http://home.comcast.net/~rtrice81/al...ondavssrt4.wmv

itll have enough torque for its weight...ever heard of the solstice?

LOL @ the rice comment...if you knew anything about the type r and the raw history behind the car you would take back that comment. true that the R isnt sold in the US anyone, but if your talking cosmetic, there are alot of people that think the spoiler on the SS is "ricey."

and i think the SS would edge the type S everytime given equal drivers. the 6 speed tranny more than helps make up for the lack of torque...

Any car can be made fast with $$$ plain and simple. Same with weight reduction, motorcyles can have 120HP and 65FtLbs TQ.

With the R accessory statement the point I was making was that a Intake and Exhaust doesn't make a 15.5 second car a 14.5 second car. Nor does a transmission make up for lack of torque.

Everyone has to try to be all technical, no matter what technologies are involved A RSX Type S is still no competition.

gearing can make or break a car...plain and simple...a car can have 500 hp and tq but if you give it the gearing of a semi...yeah...the m3 is a perfect example of excellent gearing to help improve a cars acceleration.

the statement about the intake and exhaust pulling a cars 1/4 mile times down a whole second just even isnt worth talking about...

its not like im saying a type S would be able to be a SS...in some cases though, it would end up being a drivers race, where as 95% of the time, a SS would win...C&D's 1/4 mile times only show a type S being .2 or .3 seconds slower than a SS in the 1320...

but anyways...back to topic now...

Once again to technical, good gearing will help but it does not make up for something that isn't there.

And I guarantee a SS will be more than .2-.3 faster.

nobody ever said that adding an intake & exhaust will make a car 1 second faster on the 1/4 mile. your statement of the "R" accessory is the lamest thing i've ever heard. if you don't know anything about it just don't say anything at all.

You sure like to talk $hit. Do have any timeslips to back up your macho talk? I'm not trying to bust on the Cobalt SS, I like them, but you seem to be looking through some very thick "rose colored glasses".

I'm not an RSX guy, but they are certainly one of the quicker sport compact cars. Judging by a brief read through the Cobalt SS drag racing section it seems the RSX-S is very similar down the 1320 as the SS.

I'm not interested in what magazines do, I'm interested in what the majority of the Cobalt SS's are doing. That seems to be low 15's.

It seems as if I am the only one who isn't wearing blinders.

I see you drive a SRT-4 so here we go again, are you going to tell me your SRT-4 is faster too? You think SS's run 15's with a good driver?

srt's faster unless the driver sucks, the numbers dont lie...

the first sign is denial...

I've driven a Cobalt SS and I like it alot, quite a lot in fact. It is definitely not faster than my SRT-4. Just because I have an SRT-4 doesn't mean I hate the Cobalt. I actually think it's a complete joke how the two groups bicker back and forth. I'm just happy another company brought out a FI Sport Compact.

Do I think the Cobalt is possible to get into the 14's stock? Yes. The trap speed is there.
Do I think it's common? Judging from the real life times I've seen, no.
Do I care what magazine times are? Negative.
Do I want to see one run in person? Absolutely.
Do I about street encounters? Nope.

Again, what do you run at the track?

I like both cars, but I am a chevy fan. What happens is we get people that take the competition to a whole new level and make it not fun.

OK.... what year?? I've had one with the 2.4 and every Chevy dealer that saw it and drove it were amazed at how quick it was over other Z24's. Now with that in hand...... DON'T OVERESTIMATE THE Z24 PERFORMANCE!!!! Yes it was a nice car, but not all that.

Now to another point..... Cody, you act like a uninformed teenage that just got his license last weekend. Some of your comments thru this post are just asinine. I just got a Mazda 6 and I could keep up with a SS for about $2000 in mods (which still makes it cheaper than the SS), and the Mazda is almost 500 lbs heavier with less stock Hp / torque, and a "family car sedan". Not to put down the SS, I had one on order for 7 months and I'm a Chevy man at heart. I love the SS and I'm always keeping up with all of its development. BUT, you are putting it up on a pedestal that is not factually strong; this opens all SS drivers up for harassment. SRT and RSX guys are for the most part good people to know and interact with. Many of these posts have some really good info in them, but you have blinders on and can't see it.

You can now spout all you want about me, I know you will it's in you mentality. I will hold anything as a grain of rice until you show me otherwise. There is a reason why this site has become so popular, and it's not because of comments like yours.
