Hey guys I was just wondering if what I am paying is a good deal the Cobalt i am buying. It is 2006 rally yellow with performance package. Also includes sunroof and the side curtain airbag option. I talked the dealer to $24,000 on the road including tax title and tags. What do you all tihnk? Just so you know the MSRP is 24,700. Thanks

i'd say shoot for less than 20. try all you can , if you cant then threaten to take your bussines elsewhere. that may only work on the cheapest sssc they have though. if not, walk out pissed and then wait for their call. you can always try it.

No offense but that's all you were able to talk him down was $700-$800. Dealers have A LOT more to play around with. I got my 2005 SS/SC for $19,600. Don't be afraid to walk if they don't get you the deal. There are plently of other chevy dealers who will do anything just to get the sale. Shoot for $22,000 and see what they say and if they say no just say well thanks for youe time and leave. I guarentee he'll say wait and let me talk to my boss and they'll find some stupid rebate or pull some money from their dealer cash to throw into your deal. Good luck

Cost on that car with those options is about $22,000 US. They don't make as much money as you people all think! Thats a good deal. Take it. They won't go lower. Who knows how many people will be willing to pay sticker price for that car.

Good-Luck! Post some pics when you get it!!!!!

It’s fully loaded with the G85 and sunroof s/c SS out the door for $24,000
Tax, title, and tags are around $2,000 so he’s getting the top of the line for $22,000. Sounds reasonable to me.

You say you got yours for 19,600. With tax and stuff did it come to about 21,600?
Also do you have the $1,600 dollar performance option (Recaros) that he’s looking to get?

People that bought 05' Cobalt models got a better deal because They got the employee discount. That's a reasonable deal considering it's an 06' model.

I think you got the better deal for everything that is included, and I am not sure if MD sales taxes are as high as D.C.'s Plus I heard of some places selling them over the price for depreciation value. So yes you got a good deal

mine (2006 SS S/C with G85 and sunroof, but no onstar, no xm, no side airbags)
came to $24,215 (before ttl). However they gave me about $700 more for the trade-in of my old car than they had to, so $24,215 sits very well with me
(I essentially consider it as they gave it to me for about $23,500)
$24,215 is exactly what was on the factory window sticker of mine.
plus they gave me full tank of gas (at todays prices that is worth more than it used to be for sure), plus free first oil change etc.
I'm not complaining

so 24,000 including tax title and tags, is certainly a good deal I say
