Goodbye Recaro's

just checked some messages...As of august 21st the supercharged coupe goes on constraint...meaning halting production....when production resumes the G85 performance package will not include recaro bucket seats but will retain its LSD..just found that out through GM hopefully it helps you guys in the hunt for a SS/SC with recaros...who knows how long it will be on constraint...the avalanche's back up camera is still on constraint

probably because they might be switching to the all leather Recaros.
which means they have to build up stock from thier producer.

The all leather recaros are only a rumor generated by this thread:

https://www.cobaltss.net/forums/general-cobalt-68/2007-recaros-all-leather-25594/

There is no proof AT ALL, that the recaros will be all leather. Only speculation. I personally would like it though.

P.S. - I ordered my 07 SS S/C after that GM link went up, so if they are all leather I will definitely post pics..

ive wondered if the recaros were gonna be standard like the redlines

and that being the reason for the all leather

only option i care about is the LSD , ive got the redline seats sitting here waitng to go in the ss/sc

Does anyone have build dates on ordered 07 ss/sc's yet? I want mine before this constraint takes effect.

P.S. I ordered my car in May.

I ordered mine about 3 weeks ago. In approximately "2 to 3 weeks" I should have a build date according to the inventory manager at my dealership. As soon as I find out I'll let you know.

WOW!....... Where do you people live! Why are you ordering SS's. I live here in Indianapolis (IN). Most every Chevy dealer I drive pass, has at least 2 to 3 SS/SC's and boat loads of SS/NA's. I can't believe you have to "wait" for your cars to be built. You must be shopping at some lazy dealerships. Your salesman have the knowledge and technolgy to use the internet to find you a car. Tell them to get off their butts....or find a dealer that will.

Thats good to here. I just got a call from the dealer last night and they finally accepted my vehicle for production, though they did not give me a date yet.

After 2 months of waiting, I will soon have my car

the Recaros right now are leather aorund, but the center is a gray mesh.

no wif the rumor about the all leather recaro is true, it would also fit the reason why they're going to stop production of the current recaros.
it just made sense thats all

I tried to locate a 2007 SS/SC i typed in a radius of 1000 miles from our zipcode...(26003) and there wasnt a single one available....it list the G85 as LSD not performance Pakage like it did on 06's....but sport red tintcoat is an available color

Where'd you get this info? If you can post a link or the message I would appreciate it.

I wold agree with first year model problems, but that stuff is fixed by the second year. Having a car on the market for 6 months allows enough time for problems to be identified and fixed. The Cobalt's 2006 problems are normal when compared to other cars on the market. I haven't had a single problem with mine.

You're going to buy a car that will be outdated in a year? It will get a bit of resytling next year, and who knows if it will get the Turbo 2.0L or not. You could have 260 HP stock in '08!

Take a screen cap, or copy and paste text into a word document. It's not rocket science!
