I have the 225/40/18's and they are smaller than stock.

40's = 2.117% too fast
45's = 1.398% too slow

I went with the 40's to solve the rubbing issue i had with the intake and sportlines. Honestly the best fit would be 235/40/18 = 0.825% too fast but than there might be rubbing issues on stock rim.

Last thing is I dont think these tires come in 225/45/18 i havent seen them but its possible.

How bout Continental's? The Continental ContiExtremeContact (Ultra High Performance All-Season) come factory on many cars here in Germany and the shop I took the balt to for winter shoes said these would last for a good 40 to 50K if maintained properly.

ya, i have read about mismatching, but i did it all summer and took some nasty turns and it turned out fine. Thats was with balds stockers on the back if you can believe it. The reason I want a lil bit bigger tire in the back is to fill out the wheel well a lil more. Its done with many cars, using diff sizes for the front and back. Even when the car comes stock with diff tires, people upgrade rims and tires/sizes all the time....im not to worried.

I have the 235/40/18 eagle F1, i love them, probably will buy another set when these wear out!! NO rubbing issues at all!!! the second number in a tire size is called and aspect ratio. It tells you the height of the sidewall in relation to the tread width. I.E. a 250/50/X tire will have a 125 mm sidewall the aspect ratio is %50. so a 300/50/X tire will have a 150 mm sidewall. So even though the tires have the same aspect ratio, 50, the wider tire will have a taller sidewall. So with the sizes you are considering 215, 225, 235 you are only looking at a difference of a few mm in sidewall height. my speedo is not off any either!!

yea definetly give them a try. i thikn they fit the stock wheesl better than the stock tires. not to mention the look a hella lot better. they fill the rear out some and meet up perfect with the edge of the fender well
