got links?
Having troubles finding anything via google and the site, maybe im not looking in the right places, i only found 1 build thread.
but im lookin for a 2.4 swap into the early 2.2 ( no vvt ). I assume its been done?
potential summer project, i got a few months to find a 06 version with the forged internals, and have a couple week project doing the swap + boosting it.
provided it wont take 100 hours of random fab work and other BS.

you can just slap the 2.4 bottom end under the 2.2 head and everything would bolt right up.
btw a good way to search the site is google: "site:cobaltss.net" then whatever youre looking for

the google thing is helpfull to ahha, sweet
sc boosting the 2.4 vs 2.2 is all exactly the same, so im not worried about that at all atm.
i find lots of talk about doing something similar to this but not any actual threads being done, le5 l61 hybrid build, lots say its a expensive PITA others say its not that bad, inexperience people just make it seem that way.
complete wire in vvt with le5 OR l61 head on le5
im sure everyone gathered my car is a 05 l61, and ill be getting a 06 le5 if i can keep this project at a budget

the head swap hybrid seems like a pita, i did some looking on jbody, css, and yourcobalt.
but i cant seem to come up with ANYTHING on how to make VVT work in my current car that doesnt have it?
would i have to wire it in completly to like the fuse box? or is it ran off the ecm? so i could just swap the ecm and have it tuned? im lost at this point.
everything els, from reading will bolt up, and work perfectly, and theres 32432x threads on boosting them, so that is my last question reagarding this !
How would i install a VVT motor into a car that did not previously have it?

the bottom end swap literally requires nothing extra. your flywheel and clutch/tranny will work the same, the head will bolt right onto it. your pcm would just need a tune for the added displacement/airflow.
the only think im not sure about it is the reluctor wheel timing. id look into that.

wtf have i been reading then? left , right AND Center all ive seen is people say the cost outwieghs anything you are trying to gain or achieve. although i will say i couldnt come across any build threads with a completed list of work and parts required, everyone just agrees on the same thing.. its not worth it $ wise.
hours of unnecessary wiring and following diagrams is what i would like to avoid. not my strongest suit..

well if youre gonna make it a 2.4 and leave it na then yeah its kinda stupid, but the 06-07 2.4 bottom ends could hold around 380-400hp with stock internals. plus added displacement is always a good thing.
Wait none of thr l61d have vvt right? For some reason i thought later models did and the gus build thread you listed had it.
He installed a vvt engine in a non vvt car, so i can just flllow and him ****?
