Yes, that's him. He was also on Hot Compact and Import about 2 years ago with the same red Cobalt.

He did beat him at the very end. As for the Mobil 1 commercial, it was kind of like that considering that Jason and those teams are sponsored by Mobil 1 so it was a larger portion of the documentary. However, it shows the engineering and technology that goes into making sure the engines stay alive due to the oil.

i though he was he was doing high 8's low 9s.
and all those runs he did were at my local track which is 5 minutes away

 

I just watched a 25 minute Mobil 1 commercial.

 

You may be thinking of Brian Ballard. He's been consistent in the low 9s and has even gone high 8s.
