Is there a way to set just the parking lights to come on when you unlock to car?

I just installed HIDs and don't want them coming on when I unlock the car then shutting right off to start it and then coming on again when it starts

 

Nothing short of rewiring the entire headlight setup. Your best bet might be to change the wiring for the headlights to the parking lights. That way your parking lights would come on when the headlights normally do. If you only use the auto lights that really won't make much of a difference anyway.

 

It's a setting in the DIC to have the lights come on and the horn to honk. I just turned mine off for the same reason.

 

yeah, just turn off the "EXT LIGHT" option on the DIC, you know, hold the menu & reset button... blah blah blah.
