"I have no glare" weird!

I did mine gloss with a black car it makes the inside of your headlight almost blend with the bumper it looks good kinda the idea with the new corvette

cutoff?? what cutoff? projectors has cutoffs not stockers. lol

if you want to see if you have glare get someone else to drive your car and you get in another vehicle and let them come at you from the other direction. they will have some glare just not extremely bad. some headlights on the other hand will blind the **** outta you with hids in them.

i know i was joking, all of the threads and arguments i have read on here about the guys with projectors and the guys with stock housing getting flamed i also said................. "I have no glare" weird!.......... just to ruffle the feathers of the projector squad.
i did get in another car and drive towards mine i guess i just aimed them right! i mean to each his own, im just not a fan of the halos all the POS Honda civics and rice burners here have them didnt want to join that club and dont want to spend the hundreds for retrofit. i am going for the "stock"/"Clean" look or just dont want to over do it the outsides done except black bowties on the wheels, and a drop. the rest is PERFORMANCE!

try and do HID's in the fogs as well because those nokya's draw way more amperage then stock and could potentially burn up your wiring

yea i'd like to see the highs. and deff do hids in the fogs when you get a chance. other than the extra wattage the bulbs you have try to pull the hids in the fogs look great. i have 6000k lows and fogs in my balt.

People can flame me all they like, my hids are fine, no glare/scatter at all, same areas of road are lit up as stock..yes projectors are ideal for a more precise and concentrated beam, but meh, some housings are fine for HID's, my sunfire has the cutoff shields around the bulbs, so the light will never go above that point.

The cutoff shield around the bulb......all that does is make sure all the light is concentrated onto the rear reflector and then the light is put forward causing glare.

Projectors are the proper and best way to go with HID's. Looks clean, clean cutoff, no glare. Want proof? Here are my retrofit Bi-xenon projectors with 6000K HID's:

i've got a questions for the 2 guys...
the first is for the guy that started this thread. the stock lights painted with HID's. First, how easy was it to paint your stock lights? also, how easy was it to install the HIDS?

As for the guy that retro-fit the Projectors (double), how easy was it for you? also, where did you find the parts for them, adn if you don't mind me asking, how much did that run you?

thanks

Honestly it was not that hard, BUT you really have to be willing to take your time and make sure everything is perfect otherwise you will get a shitty looking set of headlights.

What I did was buy an extra set of OEM headlights from someone on here who was selling them, that way I do not have to use my own headlights and rush myself because I want to get them back on the car to drive it.

As for parts for the headlights I got them from several places.

I got the FX35 Bi-xenon projectors, shrouds, and different projector lenses from here: http://store.theretrofitsource.com/index.php

They are a great source for parts and a great resource for any questions you might have.

Then I bought all of my HID parts (ie ballasts, bulbs, etc..) from a sponsor on here:
http://shop.3bspecialties.com/main.s...1.qscstrfrnt01

Again they were great for getting me the parts I needed and answering any questions I might have.

Also there are many other members on here that I drew advice off of on what they did and any tips they might have had.

As for how much it cost me, I would say well over $500....but you get a unique look that very few people have....and I am pretty sure I am one of the few in Alberta that have retrofit projectors.

But again, the best thing you can do is take as much time as you like and do it right. I took almost a full month to complete mine. Do a little bit here and there and don't rush, and you will be quite pleased.

thanks for the input. very helpful. my buddy had an ex-girlfriend that was sponsored and had a ride built for her (scion tc). she sent it out to a place in Arizona that did great work with custom retro-fit, using the same set up as you, i believe. the only thing is, that for the cobalt, they were asking $700. heres the link if you want:

http://www.izntrbl.com/pages.php/page/sponsored_rides

thats his ex in one of those pics....browse through the site and you'll see they use the same set-up.

I found it a lot more satisfying to do it myself then to have someone else do it. If you are confident in yourself and willing to take your time......you will be quite happy with a set of retrofit projectors.
