helmet or no?

going to the track tonight if you run a 13.99 or less you have to wear a helmet.

mods are 3.0 pulley, 42's, header, downpipe, exhaust, airbox mod, believe thats it. do you think i'll need a helmet? it's only about maybe 70 degree's and dropping.

edit: already went. ran a 14.5 at 98mph best time. only did 3 passes

And if you run faster they won't tell you till after a few times... at least at my track they don't lol. we have the same rules but i ran low 13s the whole night and didn't have anyone say anything.

You could just to be safe. You can still wreck running 14's.

First trip (ever, in any car) I took to the strip I put down a 14.6 with just an intake and street tires. I would say low 14s if you have some experience. You might get a lucky run in under 14 flat, but if you haven't done much if any racing before I'd say no.

Either way, they usually don't yell at you for not having a helmet if it's your first time in the 13s. Now if you run there all season long, yeah, they'll start bitching.

best time i got was 14.5 at 101. it was my first time in the balt. only other time i've been was in my automatic g5 gt. i was the lightest modded balt there and i beat all of them though so i'm kinda happy i guess. it was 72 degree's.

2.4-2.5 60s. traps were 98-101mph. average time was about a 14.6. for not having any mounts of any sort, being on gm stage 2 and not having a custom tune i feel like i did ok. i'd like to get low 14's possibly 13.9 like alleycat stated, but i need more mods for that. also tires are quite a bit worn down. may have done a little better if i rotated em.

I got yelled at for my first sub-14 pass in the Z the last time I went. Ran a 13.9x and the guy asked where my helmet was. He let me slide since it was my first time there with the car in the 13's, but the next pass I put down was a 13.11. He told me to bring a helmet for sure next time lol.

Use the helmet and be safe. I've seen crashes at the track that was caused by the car in the other lane.
