Help looking for SS S/C

Hey everyone, I need your advice in buying an SS S/C

I currently own a 00 Caddy STS and maintaining that thing is KILLING my wallet, so she has to go.....I've always wanted a Cobalt SS S/C cause there fun to drive and pretty quick! I was told to get an 06-07 cause of the LSD. But my main question is what are some common problems with these cars? I'm looking for a good reliable car that wont cost A LOT to repair. Any help is thank full!

Kyle

Do your best to try and find a stock one.

The SS has a few weak points that don't take well to abuse... mainly axles, clutch and transmission. You won't know how the transmission was treated in most cases. The clutch and transmission are not cheap repairs (obviously). The engine is bulletproof (stock or GMPP tunes only), and not many people report having large electrical problems. Since you're buying an 06/07 you could still be within original warranty and have any issues fixed free of charge.

So, use more precaution than usual when you're out there looking. A couple more suggestions:
  1. 2007 models have a longer warranty and a new radio and steering wheel. They may lack Recaro seats even if they have the LSD (G85 Option Code)
  2. Some modifications can appear invisible at a quick glace - smaller supercharger pulleys and custom engine management tunes.

Good luck out there!
